yay for good results Krose!
ok, there is probably a better place to post this, but I think the crazies will understand...I was driving on the interstate and noticed a huge, new billboard. The focus of the billboard was on a head shot of a gorgeous woman, perhaps in her late thirties, smiling broadly, flipping her hair back: next to text that read "We are always welcoming new patients" as an ad for a regional cancer center.
Really? Oh, I get wanting to welcome new patients, but in the context of someone looking very happy to welcome you to the cancer world? or is she a new cancer patient, just thrilled to be there? Is it a great thing that the center has a steady stream of business?
Um, no. I wish hospital marketing departments were required to vet ads with actual patients....

Krose ..WooHoo ..great news !
Octo ...That billboard is pissing me off from way down here , across the seas !!!!! Good Grief !!
-
Octo, looks like if some people had any taste at all, it would be poor taste. Hope they lots of negative feedback on that billboard.
-
Whew--congrats on clear scans!
-
Great article Beppy..awesome.
Octo, my Mom used to say, sometimes taste in in peoples backside. She did Not say backside. I didn't like that saying but I get it.. hehe

Maybe that billboard was a naive attempt to convince women to stop being afraid to get mammograms, and that the clinic had friendly, congenial service...or maybe there was a subtext only locals would know (such as a competing hospital having closed or involved in some sort of scandal, or to keep local women from leaving the area to seek treatment at somewhere better-known &/or more prestigious). One thing for sure: the account exec had to be male.

Well ..a busy Mother's Day here ..going out to lunch with Hubby's parents , his bother and sister's family ...and then out for dinner tonight with our kids and their family's ..so I'll be eating all day 🤪
Hope you all have a great Mother's Day ..and that includes the Mums with fur babies 🤗
-
Sounds like a fun (if busy) Mother's Day, Lucy! With one child 1000 miles away and the other 2000 away, my Mother's Day was pretty quiet. Plus there are still lots of boxes to unpack from our move! We are making progress though!
-
octogirl: and how *is* your move going?
-
Hi QMC: all moved in, thanks for asking, yay!!! We've even hung a few pieces of art work on the walls...more of that and box unpacking in store for the weekend. So far, we are really enjoying our new home.
-
octo- I'm so glad you are in your new home and busy with getting everything organized. It was a long wait but I'm sure you have a beautiful home
-
Yay, Octo! Here is a virtual traditional housewarming gift: a 🥖 (loaf of bread), 🧂 (shaker of salt), and a bottle of 🍷 (wine).
-
Octo .Glad you are enjoying your new home !!!!
-
Popping in to say hi to all the crazies. Doing pretty well but my co-workers and team members were fired 3 weeks ago and it has been hell ever since. We are down to two of us right now and I am not an IT person even though I have a good grasp of what needs to be done.
-
Molly...how awful! Hope you get some rest and don't have to work this weekend....
-
Molly..yes..that is awful !! You must be exhausted !
Iris ..how are you going ?
-
ooh molly, sorry for the changes at your job, i do not remember, how long till you can retire? My offic was a mess but i managed to hang on till i hit 65 and then bailed!
Lucy, doing pretty good i guess. Current drug is pretty tolerable, just occasional diareah to deal with.
But new issue is blood in my urine, i have an appt at a urologist but not till after the holiday
-

Hello everyone.
I am just checking in to see how the gang is doing.
I know it's been a long time. I'm on my third cancer - breast (2011), melanoma (2015) and prostate (2018) - but I've managed to avoid the big worry for those of us with BRCA2: pancreatic. Fingers crossed.
Other than that, I am well. I am still in the Wyoming House of Representatives and practicing as a lawyer.
How are all of you doing? -
Charles- welcome back. It is easy to forget how many males are impacted by breast cancer and other cancers. Nice to hear you're doing well. Keep up the good work in the House of Representatives..
-
Charles..good to see you again. !!! ..but sorry to hear that you've had to deal with another cancer :-( Sounds like you are as busy as ever though , and enjoying life !
-
Welcome back Charles.
