I am concerned but praying the best
My US indicatedI have an irregular hypoechoic 1.6 cm mass with indistinct margins. Also there is suspicion of .6 cm thickening auxiliary node. It was deemed a BI RAD 4. I will have a core biopsy Tuesday. I wonder if there is ever a situation where there is a suspicious breast mass along with suspicious node but no cancer. I am doing all I can to remain calm and just pray until I know from biopsy

Yes, there is. Bi-rads 4s are about 80% benign, on average. I had an enlarged lymph node, and the radiologist told me she would be surprised if it amounted to anything, and, in fact, it was benign on biopsy

Thank you for your prayers. This helps me remain calm and look to God

I'm curious, what about the ones who DO have cancer? Is it dependent on how religious you are?
-
No, it is not. However my comment was not intended to offend anyone. As many others have posted “praying for you” whether benign or malignant. It’s whatever you can do to keep yourself or someone else motivated-to keep pushing through. Personally, I have had other medical pitfalls as with many others- if saying “praying for you” helps someone, no matter the outcome, emotionally feel better, it should be fine. I hope this thread does notgo off message and beyond my intentions of just support and questions,.

Thank you for the inspirational, kind words and prayers-I really appreciate it. I pray the best for you during your continued journey.

Alice..great question..awaiting an answer.

I don’t believe in anything. That is my choice. If you say you are praying for me, whether you really do or not, I appreciate it as a kind gesture. That being said, I hope that you have benign results. ❤️

I don't mind if people pray for themselves or others. What I do mind, or at least don't understand, is the implication that it affects results, rather than just offering psychological comfort.
-
Got it. One freaking thread for non-believers. Prayers and religious-tinged threads galore for everyone else.
And of course I wish mml123 well, and everyone else. Even without smugly being told to in a disrespectful way.

Hey Alice,
I would feel differently if the OP hadn't included language about praying in her topic line. Once she does that, I think that other believers can fairly infer that writing about praying would be welcome or comforting to her. It always jars me a little when I see it, and in a thread where the OP didn't mention it I think it *would* be rude of posters to assume it was welcome. But in a thread like this where the focus is the anxiety of the poster and they have made clear that prayer is a comforting framework for them... I figure maybe I'm not the best one to rpovide advice/comfort, but I'm happy that other people are.
Also this is a birad4 situation where there is a strong possibility it will be benign in any case, and it will be one of the many hundreds of threads like this that come and go without majorly impacting the life/culture of the site. At least, that's my impression.
