I saw that earlier today. Thank you for sharing it! If it wasn't for my faith in Jesus Christ, I don't know how I would get through this current trial.
-
Good to read your post, Felicia, and know that your faith in Jesus Christ sustains you. I agree--getting through any trial without Him, knowing that he completely understands and has experienced all our pains and sorrows, would be soooooo much harder. I just went to the temple today and feel recharged, spiritually, and anxious to do better in my scripture study, prayers and ministering to others. Blessings of better health to you, Felicia, and for your troubled heart to be calmed through your trials.

This really hit me today when I saw it. Wow--how true! We carry burdens from the past that need to be "put down" and left behind. Here's to moving forward with a lighter load and happier heart!

A friend sent me this video that gives me hope when things look bleak. I love Elder Holland's encouraging words at the end of the video:
"Don't you quit. You keep walking. You keep trying. There is help and happiness ahead. Some blessings come soon. Some come late. And some don't come till Heaven. But for those who embrace the Gospel of Jesus Christ, they come. It will be alright in the end. Trust God, and believe in good things to come!"

In case you worry that your children have tuned you out or even stepped away from their faith, these wise words may give you comfort as they have comforted me.

Since it's Easter weekend, I thought it would be good to share this wonderful video to remind us of what our Savior, Jesus Christ, has done for everyone who has ever lived in the past, present and future. Because of him, we will live again and be whole, physically, mentally and emotionally. It is up to us to decide how we will live, spiritually, and if we will accept his atonement and repent. I'm so very grateful for his sacrifice, paying the price of all my sins and feeling every pain of my mortal life. I love our Savior with all my heart and want to keep his commandments and serve others as an instrument in his hands.

Met our 12th grandchild while visiting in Idaho for our youngest son's graduation from BYU. She was blessed in church that same weekend--what wonderful events to attend!

-
Sharing more good news from our family--our youngest joined the ranks of our other 4 children, graduating from BYU. So proud of her, and we have great hopes for her to use her education, serving others and remaining that beacon of light as she lives her testimony of Jesus Christ. We sure love her and all our children, our greatest blessings from God

Hi Joanne,
Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day. I have been busy moving and re-connecting with my parish.
God is so good. His grace has rescued me from a toxic situation.
-
So sorry about your past situation, Marie, but really happy to hear of your re-connecting with your parish! Friends and clergy who share your faith are precious blessings
Hope you enjoyed a lovely Mother's Day, too! I spent mine with my parents, going to church with them and then a wonderful lunch at their little home--my childhood home--with my brother's family, my sister visiting from out of state, and one of her daughters with her husband and children. It was a perfect day! Here's a video of my 88 yr-old dad and 83 yr-old mom accompanying him as she's done for the last 63 years. He sang this at church, but I recorded it later in their home. So glad I did! Hope you enjoy this old-time, family favorite song about mothers...

I've been feeling a bit envious of some friends who have financial independence, retired and traveling to see grandchildren when ever they like, vacationing all over the world, no health issues, etc. I know they have their trials, but I just feel like they have a much better life. Then I saw this and decided to change my attitude. It's never too late to change anything about yourself you don't like

-
These words of wisdom ring true--oh, so true--in my ears and in my heart today!

-
Amen

I truly believe this statement because it opens the door of hope.
"Why is it that the most significant, beautiful moments in life so often come just after periods of darkness and sorrow? The birth of a new child is always preceded by a mother's pain and travail. The joyful colors of spring are most inspiring because they come on the heels of a dreary winter. And glorious sun rises would be meaningless if they didn't follow the darkness of night. Perhaps there is a message for us in such patterns. Nothing is ever hopeless. When things seem the bleakest, when all seems dark and despairing, it may be that a great light of hope is just about to shine forth. After all, such new light cannot come if life is always sunny."—Lloyd Newell

This cute poster made me smile through some tears. It's so true--you are loved no matter what!

"Forgiving someone is like setting them free from prison, and as we forgive them, we set OURSELVES free from the prison of our feelings."
This is a quote from a local leader of my congregation and it made perfect sense to me as I thought of this visual. I'm overwhelmed with joy when I think about the miracle of forgiveneness from the Lord as we repent and for being able to forgive others, no matter how deep the wound may be. Freedom in mortality is what we celebrate this time of year, but freedom from the prison of our pain and sorrow can be accessed and celebrated everyday, forever.
