Gardening, anyone?

Our Spring problem here (aside from late freezes) is insufficient winter chill hours. The daffodils will bloom late January/early February on 3” stems
-
Twohobbies...that is a lot to keep up with. The rose and snow photo is, however, beautiful.
-
Marilyn,
The wild turkey is playing peek-a-boo!
Jazzy,
I hope you get to take pics of baby quail chicks.
TwoHobbies,
Spring blooms in snow are always eye-catching.
I enjoy the lovely pics and chitchat. ;o)
Husband took 2 quick pics of an old toad that was uncovered then recovered while raking.

Looks like it is finally time to start planting this weekend!
-
I love looking at your new flowers, plants and animals enjoying spring. After your horrible winter, it's fun seeing all the spring pictures of new growth and life.

Jazzy, I just love seeing your garden photos because your climate is so different from mine.
-
Gardens are planted! And new fencing put up to keep the new pup out. Tulips from the front-
-
cpeachy-Wow. Beautiful
-
I love watching tulips open up. If you just leave them they go thru all sorts of gyrations. I've been painting them at different stages.
-
wren- so, you're a painter. Painting flowers is a real challenge. Can you post any of your artwork?
-
My cherry tree is blooming. And look at these wild tulips (I think?)I saw on my hike today in the woods.
-
twohobbies: Stunning
-
-
what kind of flower are those? Theyare beautiful,jazzygirl..
-
Its a variety of ice plant. They make great ground cover & do well in drier climates.
Oh but look at this- my neighbors century plant is about to bloom. This flower stalk is already 7-8 ft tall and has the coolest flower on top when it's done
-
Jazzy- century plant, are those the ones that bloom once and then die off? Or Is that just a myth? So cool!
-
Peachy- yes, that's true. Same neighbor had one bloom on another plant a few years back. After it died though, there were small ones found underneath
-
it looks like a giant asparagus
-
Looks like it, but the folaige is far from being lacy.
-
The century plant has many different names. They usually live 15 to 20 years and die after flowering. They almost always have several off shoots which will thrive and live for a long time. Hurricane Irma destroyed my 2 Century plants. I didn't bother replacing them because they have very long thorns. My not so smart retriever Ted would chew on the plant and end up with a bloody mouth. That did not stop him from chewing on the plant. I miss the beauty of the plants but I don't miss the vet bills.
-
Husband photographed the following wildflower in bloom.
*bluets*
-
I love the tiny little flowers that show up in the spring. I noticed some tiny violets at the edge of the driveway. I'm so tempted to dig the little plants up to put in my lawn. I was raised right though and so far have resisted.
-
-
meow- beautiful flowers.
-
Yes Meow, GORGEOUS!!!
My photo is not spectacular. But it does represent a huge accomplishment. I spent 3 very hard days last fall, in 90 degrees, in 15 minute sessions, planting these 9 rosebushes. They survived and opened up many blooms this week!!!
