Anyone have acromegly also. Also staging questions
Ihave multiple health issue and now idc. Just red boost results. Left breast. Very small. Er and positive her2 neg. Grade 3. Talk to surgeon in a week.
2 questions. Is stage based on tumor size alone? No lymph nodes checked in biopsy. Was told lumpectomy more than likely. How can treatment be divided without nodes bring checked?
I also have acromegly caused by pituitary adenoma reoccurance. Anyone else???
Due to the acromegly I have enlarged liver and cavernous hemmangiomas. Copd. Osteoarthritis. Spinal stenosis. As well as some other issues.
Currently on octreotide chemo for the acromegly igf and gh .

If you scroll down, there is a forum titled 'BC with another diagnosis or comorbidity' where you might try posting. A search on acromegaly on this site only comes up with a few hits so I would say you are pretty special!
You are probably already being treated by specialists so be sure they are all informed as to your med regimens and proposed treatments, etc. They should also have opinions as to the risks your upcoming lumpectomy may involve and how to manage them. Have someone go with you to next week's appt to help listen and take notes.
Staging is initially based on imaging size and will be refined once sentinel node biopsy is done during surgery.

during the lumpectomy most surgeons also perform something called 'sentinel lymph node biopsy' (you'll see it abbreviated to SLNB on this site). Preliminary staging is done now and then final staging is done after the surgery and the lymph node pathology results.

Hi, just wondering if you ever got any additional details or support regarding your IDC and acromegaly? I also have Acromegaly and IDC. Luckily my acro just manifests itself with elevated IGF, and aside from osteo and the obvious growth issues I haven't had the level of other issues you have had. I have been on Sandostatin LAR and bromochriptine for a number of years which has kept it under control. My lumpectomy and SNB have come back clear, thankfully, but will likely be recommended for Tamoxifen. Anyone I have mentioned the acromegaly to has no experience with the disease, so I am concerned that my current treatments will not be properly taken into account. Just wondering if you have any further experience?
