Uncertain how to deal with symptoms...
Good afternoon! I'm new to this discussion board. Though I have physical support within my household, they struggle at times to relate from an emotional and medicene necessity perspective. I'm uncertain about many things daily, today's struggle....why I awoke in ok spirit & ready to drive my daughter looking for her homecoming dress, but shortly after feeling like a train load of flu bugs hit me. It is day 4, after my first Chemo treatment. I have enough meds on hand to control the nausea which continues to interrupt my train of thought; however, my bones/joints are in pain and I'm unsure how to get relief from it....or if even possible.
Will someone please provide similar experience and how you dealt with this?? Breaks my heart to be absent from being involved in daughter's activities. She tells me, "its ok mommy, just take good care of self", but I'm so used to being her "go-to" person, it's crushing to the heart. U

Take Advil that will help your bone pains, BC is very challenging emotionally and physically. Try to put your chemo on public so other would know how to help you. Hang in there you will see the end of the tunnel

Thank you for the repl ladies! I'm unable to take ibuprofin type pain meds due to a heart condition I'm also being treated for. Tylonel is like candy in my system - doesnt work, and I have Tramodol on hand but will need to double check if this still acceptable with treatment (chemo & her2).
Have a beautiful day and wish me luc

Hi!
Did you get a Neulasta shot after chemo? Some breast cancer patients take Claritin before chemo to address bone pain, which is a side effect of Neulasta.
-
I was prescribed Tramadol during chemo for relentless headaches after the first round. You can check with your MO office to get their okay.
I ended up taking a regular Claritin every day the whole time that I was on chemo. I had heard that it could help with bone pain from the WBC stimulators. There was just a lot of conflicting info about when to take it and for how long. I do think it helped.

Thank you very much! It being Sunday, I was on the fence on whether Tramodol ok since Dr. Office closed. It's been about 4 hours that Tramodol in my system and it seemed to elevate the shooting pain and headache; but I'm still with flu-like pain & have not rested much. Thank God this process is somewhat manageable and for awesome people who took the time to reply to my worries.
Good night!

Thank you for the reply Elaine. I'm uncertain what Neulasta is....I suppose there's chance it was put in my IV during treatment but not sure
-
Hi nanuno....Neulasta is given 24 hours after the chemo to help your white blood cells .
One of the side effects is bone pain and I wasn't told about it ..I thought it was from chemo...
Sorry you're in so much pain...ask your oncologist or cardiologist is there anything else beside tylenol..
Sending big hugs from New York ❤
Sheila
