I had my lumpectomy three and a half months ago and finished radiation one month ago. The what I assume is scar tissue “lump” is painful and tender to the touch. Wondering if this is normal? Thanks!

My scar tissue is still tender to the touch, and my surgery was Nov of 2016! I try my best not to touch it, lol.

Gb, thank you for replying! Sometimes it just helps to hear that what you’re feeling is normal.

I had a lumpectomy a little over two years ago. I still have discomfort that comes and goes in my treated breast. My MO said it's normal and it's from the scar tissue. My RO said it's the nerves regenerating. I'm told it lasts for years. I do worry about it due to fear of local recurrence. My RO nurse advised that I do self-breast exams regularly and to be aware of any changes in the breast. That coupled with regular screenings and our scheduled appointments, I guess is the best we can do with this new “normal."

    Gentle hugs all

I had my surgery in January and finished radiation March 22. The last couple of days I’ve noticed alot of pain there too. From my under arm to the scar. It feels sometimes like I have a bruise. II have been working ot a-lot so I don't know if that aggravate it too.

This is the first time I posted. I was looking to see if anyone else had the same feeling too. Thanks for starting this thread

CaptBreast, sounds like we’re on the same schedule! I had my lumpectomy on January 7, finished radiation March 20. So hard to know what’s normal and what’s not. Thankfully I see my OBGYN for my annual visit tomorrow, so I will get her opinion too.
