Mine had some red in it the whole time (it was really more orange toward days 5-7). It may not completely turn yellow but should get lighter.

Thanks alto. I just emailed and asked my doctor today, she said that the color does not matter, what matter is the amount of drainage liquid. I am still a little confuse on the color does not matter, since if it is red then there is still blood, Is that mean it does not heal correctly.

    Thanks again for replying alto.

Mine was red pretty much the whole time. I think as the output slowed down in volume it shifted to a more brown/yellow color. But that was 10 days out on one side, longer on the cancer side. Hope you continue to heal well.

your body is doing well healing you! The liquid indicated that your body is healing. This is hard but even blood cloth will appear in the drains.

    This will all pass soon!

I think they tell you the liquid may turn yellow so you aren’t surprised if/when you start seeing yellow fluid. We all know we have blood, but most people don’t know we have serous fluid (the pale yellow liquid).
