Worried after finding a lump
Sorry very long post..
I have 2 lumps in my neck very small thought probably swollen glands went to Doc's but as I had just ended a cold they said they would go soon, they didn't haven't but iv had on off colds for months so not been back .. well Tuesday night I was walking past the mirror and noticed something on my right breast so had a look and there it is a lump but it's not a normal shaped lump in fact it's a line shaped like the letter M rang my mum was fully prepared to leave it as it's probably nothing .. mum then rings back to Doc's tomorrow so I went the next day .. the doc is unsure if it's attached to skin or tissue but I feel it's attached to skin when I lay on my side and gravity takes over it stays in the same place it's hard doesn't hurt .. got an appointment at breast clinic on Thursday but my mind is in overdrive with what ifs ..
Anyone had similar any advice would be greatly appreciated xx

I have had lumps on my neck that turned out to be lipoma and fatty tissue. Usually they are nothing but it’s always good to check it out. Same goes for the lump on your breast. I had one breast larger than the other that showed up on my mammogram. I never felt a lump and didn’t have any pain. Breast cancer doesn’t always hurt. Looking back over the time before I was DX one symptom stood out and that was rapid weight loss. I thought it was because I had stopped eating sugar. Unfortunately it wasn’t.
The lump(s) could be any number of things so try not to worry. Even if we had something similar it doesn’t mean yours is the same DX. BC isn’t a one size, fits all disease.
Keep the faith and keep us posted.

I didn't realise weight loss could be a symptom I was size 14 4 months ago went to size 8/10 very quickly just thought it was down to stress because my youngest has been poorly since birth and my eldest is being tested for autism IV had a lump removed off my shoulder but that was nothing had that done in August last year but scar still painful, I'm a massive overthinker and always assume the worst xx

Dear Mumofthree,
We are sorry that you find yourself here with these breast changes and the worry they bring. It sounds like you are taking logical steps to get to the bottom of the changes. Try not to jump to the conclusion that this is breast cancer. It could be many things. While it is helpful to hear from others be careful not to compare yourself to them. Keep us posted on what you learn at your appointment next week.

The lumps you are feeling in your breast and neck are not necessarily related. Have you or your doctor felt any lumps under either arm? If you are concerned that there is something in your breast spreading outside the breast, know that it would be unlikely for something to spread from the breast directly to the cervical nodes without involving the axillary nodes on its way.
When you have your imaging done ask the US tech to take a peak under your arms if that is not a routine part of their breast US protocol (it should be). Aillary nodes are usually visible on mammography.
