Metastases to the Skin?

I just discovered a quarter size red mark on my non cancerous breast. I saw my surgeon who did my breast reconstruction who advised me to use an anti fungal cream and to schedule an appointment with my dermatologist. Dermatologist did a punch biopsy and mentioned it could be a recurrence of breast cancer! We need to wait for the biopsy to come back in a couple of days.

13 years ago I had a lumpectomy with clear nodes, AC and Taxol chemotherapy, Herceptin for 10 months as I was ER-/PR- and HER 2+++. Also had 26 radiation treatments. Couple years after finishing treatment had genetic testing and tested positive for BRAC. Had oophectomy, and bilateral skin sparring mastectomy, reconstruction with expanders and then silicone implants.

Thought I did everything I could do to ward off this dreaded disease, but am fearful of Mets or a recurrence.

Anyone have any wisdom/thoughts for me. I tried to use the Ask An Expert Site at John Hopskin Hosp but it has been disabled.

    I'm not an expert, but I had skin metastasis and what you describe does not sound anything like what I had. I hope that puts your mind a ease a little while you wait for the results - they are probably just being on the safe side, and the punch biopsy will help you be certain instead of "watching it."
