After radiation

Options

Hello all. My last radiation treatment was 10/31/2018. Almost 6 months later my skin is all healed and everything looks good. My breast still feels heavy, no more shooting pains but still some throbbing. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this months after finishing or am I just overly aware of my breast and a little hyperfocusing?

I finished in mid-December 2018. I was fine until the last month, when the nerves seem to have woken up. If I sleep too long on that side, I feel it. If I wear a bra too long, I feel it. It's more of an annoyance than anything, and I assume it's a phase of nerve regeneration. I'm planning to ask the surgeon next month when I have my checkup.

I know how you feel. It's been 2 years since my radiation and I still have redness, swelling and soreness. I found out recently that 5 months after radiation, several of my ribs spontaneously broke. Just discovered it on CT scan for my kidney. At the time, I went to see the RO and she said the stabbing pain in my ribs was "referred" pain from my breast. I argued with her but she never ordered an X-Ray and refused to give me pain meds. I recently did some research and found that many women have broken ribs and rib pain after radiation. The RO said my breast swelling, etc may take years to go away. I went to a physical therapist specializing in lymphedema who helped me more than anything. I only had to go a couple of times.

I am 2 years out from 7 wks of radiation. My breast still hurts & I have red irritation spots. Some days, in 1 small area, it looks like my pores are huge. I have been telling my radiation oncologist as well as my medical oncologist and they have seen it. My radiation oncologist put me on antibiotics for 2 months thinking that maybe there was an infection. There is no infection. The antibiotics did nothing at all. Now it's a touch where the redness is doesn't hurt to touch it it hurts on the inside. My radiation oncologist insist that it has absolutely nothing to do with radiation because I am too far out from it. And I continue to tell her that's a bunch of crap. I've never in my life had issues like this ever. I know it's the radiation.
