Sciatica or bone mets

Options

I have been having severe low back and hip pain on one side for months. It runs down my leg to my foot. Sounds like classic sciatica. I even had an MRI 2 months ago which showed nothing. Why am I still so scared that the drs are wrong. Should I bother saying something to my MO at my next check up? I don’t want soundparanoid.

I would def mention it....only because
it will give you peace of mind and
the doctor can reassure you -
I had a severe rib pain and convinced
myself that I had bone mets....didnt
want to complain, but went to doc-turned
out to be a torn muscle...(from
shovelling an 8 foot snowbank ..
    5 days after my lumpectomy
    which was probably pretty stupid)
But i think with cancer, this will be our
normal thinking now- i decided i
will never stay silent if a pain etc
pops up-gotta stay proactive- why take
the outside chance for fear of what
    the doc thinks.....

I would say something but the fact that it matches sciatica symptoms (totally does) and you had a good MRI should be encouraging!!

I agree; I wait 2-3 weeks and if something is still going on, I mention it. If for no other reason than if i want something scanned or checked later, they have a record of my gripe about something not being right. I would also think this is sciatica.

    Hello Lilo

You might find that by the time it's time for your next check-up, the pain has gone. I've suffered from sciatica at least three times since being diagnosed with breast cancer seven years ago and just when I've plucked up courage to discuss it with a doc...whoosh, it has gone!

You even plucked up courage to have an MRI. Respect. And it was clear!

Up to you but I'd be tempted to just enjoy life until your next check-up - and beyond.

    Alice
