Recurrent Rash On Lymph Node Removal side
Ladies - It is coming up on two years since diagnosis for me. I have had this rash - looks like a heat rash - red splotchy area that appears on my armpit area out of the blue. I can't connect it to anything and my breast surgeon says a "contact dematitis" type thing. I have had it three times since last year and it takes about three days to go away. It is on the side of my lymph node removal - left side. In addition my left side skin on arm seems to be "more sensitive" vs before cancer....am I imagining things?? Anyone else experiencing more sensitivities on their lymph node removal side vs no surgery side??? I can't find a lot of research about this, so I am wondering. I flip out every time I see the rash, but my docs don't seem worried....I have never been a "sensitive" person - seriously I probably could have swam in a sea of allergens/bacteria, etc and would never have a reaction before cancer.....so any thing abnormal that I have post cancer is soooo strange for me....Anyone else more sensitive or experiencing rashes on their node removal side???

I am 8 years out am
I developed a rash in my armpit on the side of my cancer. It came on slow and didn’t go away. They biopsied it and it came back as LYMPHATIC ECTASIA. Doctor told me it is damage to the lymphatic system most likely caused by damage from surgeries and radiation. I tend to worry about these rashes too! It is almost 8 months now and I’ve had no improvement. I just had my dermatologist look at it again and she wasn’t worried.

Yes.... I get adhesive sensitivity on that side but it doesn't seem to happen anywhere else.

Thanks Ladies for the input....gb2115 - I started adhesion sensitivity as well on my left side.....that literally started with cancer. When they placed the IV and put the tape in place, I had a reaction the next day....it doesn't happen anywhere else either..... hmmmmmm
mammalou - I am with you on the worry.....I am hoping you do get some relief soon, and I also wonder if my lymph system is just screwed up since the node came out.....I am going to schedule an appointment with my dermatologist as well....God I hate the word biopsy just makes me have a mild anxiety attack - like I said, I hope you get some relief soon....thanks ladies again!
Any other ladies with sensitivity on that side or rashes???

I had a lumpectomy in February on my left breast. The incision is at the 2:00 position -- on the outside of my breast. A month later I noticed a pink rash on the inside of the same breast --- no where near my incision. The surgeon said she didn't know what is was --- so did the radiation oncologist. However, the nurse practitioner told me that she has seen this before and thinks it is a delayed allergic reaction to the blue dye they inject before surgery to locate the lymph nodes. I still have the rash. I'm going to find out the name of that blue dye so that I can list it as something that I am allergic to if I ever have surgery again. It's strange to me that the doctors just say "I don't know what it is"
