HELP PLEASE! Lumpectomy & United Healthcare ?

So after being diagnosed with BC in October 2018 I'm finally finished with chemo & scheduled for surgery in less than 2 weeks! Initially my options were mastectomy of the right breast, period.end of story. After a recent MRI i've been given the option to do a lumpectomy ( with or without nipple sparing ) followed by 4 weeks of radiation ( TE not an option ) then reconstruction. Has anyone had a lumpectomy then double mastectomy & implants a few months later and UHC cover their reconstruction? TI

Health insurance is such a complex thing. United Healthcare sells different products on different state markets and to different employers. Really the only way to know your benefits is from someone on the exact same plan as you or through the plan itself. I wish it weren't so complex, but that's how it is.

Your plan may have navigators, especially for cancer patients, to help you figure this out. Your treatment center and/or plastic surgeon may also be able to to communicate with insurance for you.
