edited April 2019 in Waiting for Test Results

Hi all,

I am joining this group now. I felt a lump in my breast in late February. I had a ultrasound done and was told it was fibrodemna, but that they wanted to look again to be sure. It took about a month to get an appointment for a mammogram and they did a follow up ultrasound as well. My doctor called yesterday to say that it looks too thick to be a fibroadenoma and that they wanted to do a biospy (ultrasound guided type).

Of course, this call came an hour after I was offered a new job. I'm feeling pretty down about that. I know there is never a good time for this, but?!

I just had a blood test done. Is it normal for them to do a INR test? I am overthinking everything now and am terrified it is going to the worst case scenario. I have two young kids and am so scared for them. 😔

Thank you for listening. I haven't told anyone other than my husband and feel like I need someone who understands this kind of fear to talk to.

I'm so sorry you're here. It sucks. The waiting is awful.. probably the worst part for me.

Can you post the report? What was your Birads score? And did she tell you when the biopsy report will be back?

I personally didn't have to have a blood test, so I can't commwnt on that. I'm sure others will be along soon to help ease your mind.

In the meantime, try to relax. Easier said than done, I know. Excercise. Binge Netflix. Go enjoy a date night with your husband. Take the kids to eat out. Anything. And don't be afraid of taking something to help ease the jitters... most people have to take a low dose Xanax to get through this.

    Sending healing thoughts your way.

Thanks for the reply. I don't have a report. My doctor called and said I needed a biospy based on the recommendation from the radiologist.

I didn’t have any bloodwork done before my biopsies but what I’m learning is every place seems to have its own protocol.

I hope you get in for the biopsy soon, get negative results and can celebrate the new job! Actually, you should celebrate that new job either way.life is meant to be lived, not worrying :)

time - the reason for the INR is to make sure your blood can clot normally, some have issues with bleeding and/or hematoma during their biopsy. It is a precaution, no need for worry.
