Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving!
Welcome Fi_broon, Beaverntx, and ann273! Please feel free to PM me with any questions, concerns, or if you just want to talk. I'm in Round Rock and am happy to meet up with anyone at any time. I also have a long list of resources, suggested products, etc if you need any of that. I'll be in England starting 11/28 and coming back 12/15, so it may take me a bit as I will be all over the place during that time, but I'll do my best to respond.
If the 16th is too hard ( I know December is stressful for all) then let's plan on January? How would the 6th work for everyone? Then we can hammer out details for when Candy visits?
-
Jen', Have fun on your trip. January might be better:).
Let's make a plan!
-
January would be better for me. We are having new flooring installed next week and I hope we can have the house organized again by the time family arrives for Christmas on the 17th.
Just my two cents worth, don't let the newbie away the decision! It is always hard to find a satisfactory time when more than two peop!e are involved!
-
Hi All!
I thought I would drop by while I have a second, to wish everyone a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season! I think of you often and I hope we can meet some newbies when we get together next time! (in Jan?).

This is a small part of one of my favorite vintage tablecloths:). I love changing them out from week to week, season to season.
-
Will Jan 6th work for everyone here? I'll email anyone I have an email addy for, but want to get an idea if that works for more than myself
Terri- what a beauty!
-
Jan 6th works for me:)
-
Sorry, Jan. 6 does not work for me. Will have family visiting. Perhaps I can join you another time.
-
Cindy is on for the 6th.
Beaverntx- we will be planning our next meetup in March and will keep this page updated, so keep an eye on it!
-
Thank you, JWoo. I'll keep an eye open!
-
Wishing you all Happy Holidays!
-

Hello my friends!
Candy- just making sure you are still coming out in March. I will start looking for places to meet up if you are.
Would y'all be open to something in the afternoon on March 24th?
Please let me know if you are interested and about how far you can travel so I can find a spot we can all get to. I'd really love to meet with some of you that we haven't met up with yet. I'm also going to ask some other women I know that have had BC that are not on the forums to join us, and would love for you all to do the same. I'd love to grow our community if possible. While we don't meet often, when we do, i derive so much joy from being around people that understand what I've been through, even if we don't really talk about it.
-
I am still coming. I arrive on the 19th and fly home on the 26th. So March 24 works for me. I haven’t made any specific plans with friends as of this time so that date works for me. Iwill have a rental car but have to avoid toll roads as I am not paying for a toll pass from the rental company. They charge like $60 even if you only drive on one toll road. Crazy. Hope everybody is doing well. Sorry I have been out of touch. We have been traveling quite a bit taking a cruise almost every month. Getting ready to do one 7 through 17 March - 2 days before I come to Texas. I think I am a crazy woman! And then we have one planned on 28 April and again in July and one in August. Loving the retired life.
-
The afternoon of the 24th would work for me. I could leave New Braunfels no sooner than 12:30 so any location that works for others that I can reach in time works for me. I have a friend who lives in Georgetown who is starting radiation early March but after talking with her a couple of days ago, I don't think she is quite ready for such a get together. I will keep her mind for later doings.
Looking forward to meeting folks who have been there, done that and are moving on.
Candy, we have not met yet, you are one traveling lady! DH gets seasick easily so our cruises have been river ones...
-
OK ladies-
What about a late lunch/early dinner, around 3pm at http://www.tonyandluigistx.com/italian-restaurant-... ?
Last time I was there, it was excellent, and that should give everyone time to get there.
-
Beaverntx, Terri, Vicki, Candy,
and anyone else that might want to meet up- how does the above sound?
-
Sorry, thought I had replied! I plan to be there. What name will the reservation be in?
-
It'll be under Jeni
and no worries- i do that all the time! i like to blame the chemo, but now i'm starting to think it's just aging
-
great for me! I look forward to seeing everyone!
-
My schedule is up in the air, but I will make it if I can.
-
Hi Y’all,
I’m new to this forum and am glad to have found this thread. I live in the Bee Cave/Lakeway area. I’d love to connect and talk with someone who can understand what I’m going through.
Please feel free to PM me

Welcome, bluepoet!
I am happy you found us. We are a group of women, all ages, all stages. Although our experiences are different, they are still the same: the anxiety waiting on test results, the concern every time you feel a new ache or pain. It gets better as time passes, but it never goes away. Which is good. We need to know our bodies. We need to learn how to "listen" to our bodies.
Regardless, we are all here for you and are willing to lend an ear when you need it, help calm your nerves as necessary, and share what we've learned along the way.
Feel free to reach out to any of us via this forum or through PM.
Meanwhile, praying for peace and calm as you battle this disease. You can beat this!
-
bluepoet, so glad you found us! Feel free to check back often. I think we are planning a meet up in June...? You are more than welcome to join us. We would love to meet you.
Terri

Hi bluepoet!
Looks like we have a very similar dx/surgeries. So glad you found us! Please feel free to PM me at any time. I'm in Round Rock, but make my way south pretty often.
Yes, June!
I'm thinking we need some time in Gruene or someplace else fun where we can get some shopping or sightseeing in along with a meal?
I'm thinking..the 23rd might be good?
Y'all start looking at your calendars to see if that would be a good day for you.
I know it's a ways out, but time sure does race past these days!
-
I'm in ..
Need to stock up on some wine from Gruene
-
23 June looks good to me, at least at the present. We have two college age grand daughters who will be in and out over the summer (their parents are overseas) and don't yet know their schedules.
