I have to wait until Avery goes to bed around 8:00 or 9:00 and then I'm ready for bed myself around 10:00 or 11:00! My alcohol consumption is WAY down! Oh well, she's worth it!
Cheers!
Janis L -
Yunguns are always woth holding off on the alcohol at least in my book they are. You sound like you're getting into a routine with Avery that's good!
Hope everyone else is doing well too
Cheers! -
OMG Ladies! Eileen, Cheryl & Donna - wow. You guys totally went out of your way for Avery's gifts! Thanks so much! (Oh, and Laura, too, if you're lurking!)
Lunch was good and it was very nice to meet Pam and Terri. I'm hoping Laura or Pam can post a pic or two as they had digital cameras.
Cheers!
Janis (and Avery) -
Janis...Hi lady...oh...mommy.
I got Avery's package ready to send and will send it out on Monday. I bought her 12 month size but they look really small and hope that's ok.
Not drinking much here either...too busy.
Love and hugs to you and Avery...are you going to post new pictures of the two of you?
Cheers to all
Vickie -
I hope the Lavender and Whinie the Pooh was Ok. I know it's bigger than most baby blankets but that way it will be big enough for her as she gets older. I know you said you had mostly pink for her.
I'm working on a Princess one for my oldest grand daughter and a Matchbox emergancy vehical one for my oldest grandson. I still have another one to make for my newst
Grandson due in May to make too, his is going to be dinosaurs.
Now I just need to figure out what I'm going to do for Vickie if she gets Derrik! I'll have to go look again for something special. -
Cheryl, it's fantastic! Big is good ( ) since everything I have for her now is small and she can grow into it and have it for years! The specail gifts are keepers! Maybe she'll make it into a tent and play under it. I can't wait to tell her all about the wonderful gifts.
-
I'm making Haydens big too. My daughter liked the idea of him being able to use it on a regular bed and she swaddled Cloe in hers and really liked the fact that it was big enough to do so for a full year! I will make her a new one for her next birthday. Fact is I think all my family are getting blankets this year.

Hello????? Anyone out there????? Avery's asleep so now it's my time for R & R! Surely with Monday being a holiday I thought I'd have some company.....
Guess I'll just go drink my wine and read a book. -
Hey Janis, Are you adjusting to being a full time Mommy yet?
A bunch of us are going to be gathering in Western NY in August.
Have you checked out the Moving Beyond Wagon Circle thread? If not we'd love to see you over there?
Where has everyone been lately?
I had a nice glass of wine this evening, but only one. I have to work tomorrow. -
Huggssss, Janis--hope it is a GOOD book! Looking forward to some pics of Avery and hoping to get my gift to her in the mail this week. We've been iced in/frozen for last couple of weeks. Ventured out today because we HAD to buy a new washer/dryer----ughhhhh! Dirty clothes are piling up all over the place--DH is going to be one busy little bee when we get them installed!!!! LOL
Hope all is going well with you and Avery. I think your adoption is so wonderful!!!! -
Here's some pics of our get together on Saturday. Avery is adorable and J O Y is written all over Janis's face:
-
JAnis, Oh Avery is SOOOO cute...enjoy...
MB -
JOY. Janis, you're glowing. Avery is an angel!! You make a beautiful family.
-
Oh Janis you both are adorable! Will get a gift out soon, haven't forgot about you two! Enjoy! happy Mother Hood!
Hugs Grubby -
Oh, I think I'm going to cry! The pics are wonderful Laura - thanks! It was SO nice to get together with BC gals, even if we all only drank water! I do my drinking now when Avery is asleep for the night but I'm too worn out to drink much and quickly follow her to bed!
Cheers!

Janis - the pics of you and Avery are gorgeous!!
I know the little pink terry robe & matching slippers aren't the most practical gift, but it was too cute to pass up! I think everyone needs lounge wear, no matter the age!
Sounds like you girls had a blast!
Think I'll have a glass of wine then go to bed early tonight. I have a very busy day at work tomorrow GAG.
Cheers,
Donna -
Wow Janis you look wonderfully happy!
Laura, thanks for posting the pics!
Have to go check out all the particulars of PINKSTOCK! Hope you all can go too! Would love to meet all of you! -
Janis, Laura told me that she had lunch with you and Avery and I just wanted to pop in and tell you CONGRATULATIONS on becoming a mom!!! What a wonderful experience to adopt and give love to such an amazing baby. Laura said the baby was so well behaved and alert. I cannot wait to see the pictures.
If you've read any of my posts you would know how me and my DD are each other's pals and we just love spending time together. Since she is an only child, like Avery, you are going to love learning the new games they have out and sharing some of the good old days toys we had. Teryn just got Toss-Across for Christmas and for her last birthday, my aunt sent her paper-dolls with tons of outfits! I seemed more excited about these things than her but she was so excited that I already knew how to play them and would love to play with her.
I am so excited for you that you have put yourself on this wonderful journey of motherhood ......... and your a singlemom and you will ROCK at this! -
Love the pictures of you two beautiful girls!! Janis you look just like a mommy!
-
Janis, oh my god is she beautiful and you have that new mommy glow. I'm so happy for the two of you. Life does go on and it does get better.
Sorry I have been away ladies, I'm so busy and stressed with my new job. and on top of that 4 weeks ago the pipes in my house froze and burst and it was a nightmare, I'm just now finishing up the reconstruction, all I have left is for the carpet to be put in this Thursday and the painters are doing the ceiling now. What a nightmare.
Glad to see your all doing well miss you so much

Oh Janis, Avery is gorgeous!!! You looked so darned HAPPY!!
-
Janis...I mailed the package to you and Avery today! I sent it priority mail so you should get it in tow or three days. Finally...been so very busy lately. You don't have to wait to open it just dig right in! I did buy everything in 12 month size but my they look so tiny!!! I hope everything fits ok.
What beautiful pictures and what a beautiful mom and new baby!!! May your lives be filled with joy.
Hugs

Me happy? Hell yes!!! Been waiting for motherhood my entire life and not that it's here I'm going to enjoy it (both the good and the bad)! -
Janis, just a trick of the trade, Don't buy things that "fit" right now, buy "big" that way she'll be able to wear them at least a few times before she out grows it! They grow so very fast!
Randi, Sorry you've had pipe trouble. Seems like this winter has just been cruel that way. Hope you're still liking to new job and getting adjusted to it. You'll have the house back in order in no time! -
Oh, I am SO frickin' glad the deep freeze is over! I feel lucky that nothing froze here since I keep my thermostat very low. I worry about ice damage so I rake my roof when the snowfall is over 2". I really HATE winter.
Avery is petite and at 6 months she's a little small yet for 6 month old clothing but who cares if I have to roll her sleeves (and pant legs) up! (oh, the poor girl!)
I'm enjoying some French wine but not much as I have a job interview tomorrow morning, all the way in the city! A friend of mine is going to watch Avery and then we're going to the grand opening of a new Whole Foods in the city. Spring has sprung here and I'm really liking the warmer weather! I hope everyone else is well!
Cheers!

Here are pictures of our Illinois get together and Janis's new baby. Several people on this thread contributed to the impromptu baby shower as I understand it.
