If your RO used markers and clear stickers to mark your body for radiation, do you put lotion/aloe on those stickers or do you go around them?

I would go around them. Putting it directly on might make the sticker fall off more quickly. I had clear stickers over my tattoos and they eventually fell off but it took awhile. I might have had sharpie marks with stickers too, sounds familiar, but I can't remember for sure. See, proof that this will all be a fading memory some day!

I'm mid-radiation, and my techs definitely said to go around the stickers.

Hi RosieRed. I was incredibly careful with my stickers so that I wouldn't have to have tattoos. No lotion or touching if at all possible, lots of protection in the shower. I definitely didn't want them to fall off. The marks and stickers were changed/moved for my boosts … 15 full breast & 6 boosts. What I wasn't expecting is that the skin under the stickers was in better shape than the rest of my breast. When I pulled the stickers off, you could clearly see the round circles and the skin was not nearly as pink. Good luck to you. Once everything is over and you start healing, it usually happens quickly.

I went around the stickers, too. I had a few that always got loose anyway, but it wasn't a big deal since the techs would just refresh the mark and put a new sticker on. I had one spot that got really irritated where the sticker was, which had everyone puzzled since it was the only place. They switched to a different sticker for that, that didn't stick quite as well, but the techs just replaced it more frequently. I don't think there was a tattoo option at my hospital.
