Squeaky sounding reconstructed breast?

Weird question, I know. I am less than 3 weeks post-op (double MX with direct Natrelle silicone implant). After today's follow up, I was told to start massaging. I noticed when massaging the right breast, I feel and hear (if I'm extra quiet) a faint "squeak" and I feel an unusual sensation. Has anyone else experienced this? Will it subside? Any suggestions?

Many Thanks!

Hi Svpp! We want to welcome you to our community. We hope you're healing well following your surgery!

We would definitely suggest reaching out to your surgeon and letting them know. It's certainly normal to have some unusual sensations following a reconstruction, and it could be the implant you're feeling/hearing, but it's best to double check just to insure all is well! Other members of the community should also chime in soon with their advice and insights.

I had massive squeaking with mine. Everytime I went to pick something up, or turn the lid on a jar/bottle...etc. The worst was turning over in bed. Not only did they squeak, but I could hear the saline sloshing in them. None of it was too bothersome, just weird. Unfortunately I had to have them removed due to infection (not related to the implants, I'd developed it right after mastectomy and it came back).

I wonder if it has anything to do with them being compressed by the muscle, therefore "rubbing". Are yours smooth or textured? Mine were smooth.

Thank you for you insight Vickki. I hope you are feeling better!

I do not have pain, just discomfort. I started noticing the "squeaking" sensation soon after beginning self massages. So naturally, I thought I did something wrong. My PS assured me I can't. My implants are smooth silicone. After thinking about it, I cam to the conclusion that the implant is rubbing against my muscle and therefore, producing that sound/feeling. It's only in my right, which is slightly larger and still swollen. Woke up this morning to no squeaking. I will keep monitoring it.

    Thank you Moderators!

I appreciate your advice! I actually had just returned from the PS office for a follow up visit, where I was given clearance to massage and taught how to. PS assured me everything is healing nicely. Then, at home, I started noticing the squeaking.

I agree, it is certainly the implant I feel/hear, but today I woke up without any of that! I will keep monitoring it and will reach out the to doctor if it persists. I am in no pain, just some discomfort and the squeaking is just "weird".

This is a great place to share views and experiences. I'm glad I found it! Thank you!

That is normal and it will go away as the swelling subsides. Mine made "gurgly fart" sounds as well. LOL
