I'm Not Sure What Is Happening

A week ago I had a swollen area on my breast and it felt like the bottom half was hard and there was redness. I went to the ER because I had a nipple ring and thought it might be an infection. At the ER I was told to remove the ring which had a little bit of blood on it. I was given some antibiotics and referred to a general surgery clinic. I went for my appointment with the clinic on Tuesday. The doctor specializes in Breast Surgery. She did an exam of my breast and said that based on the days that I have been on antibiotics and that there was no change in the hardening on my breast, I might have to have surgery to remove the hardened part which she said was inflammation. She wanted me to see her after the full course of my antibiotics. Well today I was surfing the internet and came across IBC (which I never heard of). I looked at the risk factors and I meet two of them (black and overweight) plus I am 36. Now I am worried. I plan on talking with the surgeon at my follow up appointment about having anything that is removed biopsied for IBC. I just wanted to get this off my chest because I don't want to get too worked up if there is nothing to worry about.
