Tamoxifen and periods...

I started Tamoxifen in December. My January period was normal, my February one was short and very light, and I'm a week late for my March. I'm 43 and always had regular 28 day cycles. Anyone else that's premenopausal stopped menstruating all together? I've also had some abdominal pressure, frequent urination and sensations that remind me of pms. My reconstructed breasts are of course are numb, which always used to be a cycle predictor for me, so I’m having a hard time telling what is going on.Have a doc appointment next week but I'm worrying.

I am 45 and have always had short but regular 22ish day cycles. I started Tamoxifen in January and both my cycles have been 35ish days, with my second period really no more than spotting. Sounds like we are having similar issues. I would be ok with no more periods if that didn’t lead to any other issues. My doctor said that my periods might be lighter or stop, so I’m not worried, but it’s weird to not know what’s going on with your body, like you said! I wear liners every day now, like a teenager again. HA! A teenager with fake boobs.

Wigging2000, yes!! It’s weird to not understand your body. Especially after 30+ years of periods, besides when I had my daughter. I started pantiliners every day too, even after the first month because I noticed a lot more discharge. I’m still twiddling my thumbs waiting for my period and if I skip it all together my MO suggested I check in with my gyno

Hi, I’m almost a year into my Tamoxifen periods- started out as a normal cycle and then gradually grew further apart- like yours- 35 days. This month is a lot of abdominal pressure and weird purple flakes almost. Ugh sorry to be gross but I always had the normal bleed then taper off thing. I don’t not know what this is and why my belly feels like a hard balloon. Any advice?

I am 44 , was having normal periods on tamox for about nine months , then I had 3 months of no period and then it showed up again. The doctor told me I could have periods or not have them, apparently anything goes with this med

Falconer, if the pressure is bothering you it might be worth a call to your doctor. I know that some women have trouble with thickened uterine linings on tamoxifen. I’m not sure what the symptoms of that are but it can’t hurt to have it checked out.

thanks wigging, I had an endometrial biopsy last June and all was clear. I have been wondering though if this will be an annual thing- like a really mean Pap smear.
