Medical Cannabis

The strain may also calm nausea and boost a user's appetite. Attempting to concentrate on losing weight whilst in the early phases of smoking cessation is a superior approach to fail at both things. You could possibly be uncomfortable, but most likely you won't feel hoplessly sad, despite an assortment of new feelings and emotions. The issue is unsanitary cutting rooms, he explained. The situation is simply going to secure more dire. The usage of euphemistic language can be one sign of the building of a terministic screen.

thanks for replying I kind of thought the same
I don’t know how to even contemplate what is happening

How do you get medical cannibus? I’m a stage 4 for 14 years and I have been wanting to ask my oncologist about this topic. I live in Missouri but the dr is in Kansas so are the laws different?
Thank you
Jane

Hi Jane,
Medical marijuana is determined state by state. It looks like your state is close to approving it and going to be accepting applications to get your medical marijuana card very soon. Here is a lot more information you can look through:
https://health.mo.gov/safety/medical-marijuana/faqs.php
Hope this helps!

Another idea: take a trip to Colorado and get capsules or candies over the counter with no legality problem. Then dump them in a different container. Then go home. Maybe there is another state nearer to you than Colorado where purchase is legal too
-
I have flown domesticallly with a couple oil cartridges before it became legal in PA. I know it is risky but I think that it is at the bottom of the totem pole right now as far as what is on the TSAs radar. I just put them in my check-in luggage. I only took like one or two. I didn't even feel anxious or worried. It was totally fine. Maybe dumb but I honestly was feeling quite reckless at the time when I was diagnosed, psychologically.
-
As others have said, cannabis regulations vary by state. Due to it being illegal federally, it is illegal to transport it between states. As far as flying, lovefromphilly is probably right in saying that small quantities for personal consumption are probably not a TSA priority at this time, but please be aware of the risks and potential consequences if caught. I live in CA, which now sells cannabis for medical and recreational use. Many dispensaries even deliver! I admit that it was surreal the first time I used delivery, just like ordering a pizza!

Hi All - a friend posted this website - about how Cannabis reacts to Tamoxifen. I hope its not true.
-
I am using a medical cannibis with higher thc that I initially started with. I needed more of a thc high than I expected. I am using Cotton Candy; ClusterFunk and an Indica strain called Blue something or other. All of them have high CBD ratios. I found the CBD cream really worth it. I need knee replacements. CBD cream made it so I did not have to wear my brace.
-
Hi Bcky - Lucky you to live in a state that is legal. I get "pot luck" when I buy from a friend of a friend of a friend. Have you heard or read anything about the article I posted before - about cannabis having a negative effect with Tamoxifen?
-
kber - I'm starting Taxol and Carboplatin, 1 cycle every three weeks tomorrow, for a second Primary tumor, not related at all to breast. When I was on Taxotere, Carboplatin, Herceptin and Perjetta for my breast cancer I was VERY nauseous. I live in a medical marijuana state and my oncologist and a friend that is an anesthesiologist recommend it. How in the world do you know how much to take? When do you start taking it?
-
Hi everyone - I was hurting so very badly last night, and I saw on TV it was "4/20" so I broke out some Marijuana, and I had forgotten how much relief I got from smoking. It took away my pain, It allowed me to stretch, when usually its too painful. Of course today I'm very sore from over stretching, but well worth it. Plus slept almost thru the night. I need to join the advocate group to get medical Marijuana legal in my state. I would much rather smoke pot (or better, take a 'gummie') than take pain pills.
Hope everyone is doing well. Rj
-
rjes,
I wish everyone had legal access to cannabis. It has been a lifesaver for me, in terms of pain management and helping with my appetite. It is lovely to have it available in all forms, tested for quality, and measurable doses in edibles. It still involves personal trial and error and is pricey but beats the pants off of “knowing a guy” as a source for cannabis. Let’s hope everyone has access to legal cannabis in the future
-
knmtwins - your medical marijuana dispensary should have a pharmacist there that you can meet with for your first appointment to get the medicine. They will help you decide what method of administration and how much would be best for you personally. It is a bit individualized and each person is different in terms of what works best for them.
Some folks don't like to inhale smoke or vapor so they prefer an edible or sublingual. I have heard there's something kinda like a breathe mint spray now that can be used.
On the other hand, edibles stay in your system longer and smoking or use a vaporizer allows for a person to have more control over how much and how long the effects of the medicine last.
The general rule of thumb is start slow and titrate your way up to find the right dose for you.
You will know if you've “overdone" it. I have had that happen once to me and I took a Valium as a way to help bring me back from feeling a bit too “high." This was recommended to me by the pharmacist to use, and I'm so glad he told me about it!
Good luck

I live in a state that recently legalized recreational marijuana, and medical MJ has been available here since before my diagnosis. I briefly considered the Rick Simpson "cure", but decided that I didn't have enough faith in it to try it. The recommended dosages seemed too high to allow a person to continue working a forty hour week, for one thing. And getting too high too often tends to precipitate poor mental health states for me. I get lazy, depressed, isolated and self-absorbed. So that's a downside for it.
On the upside, using smaller than "cure" doses gives me these benefits: first, it's a great sleep aid. Second, it dulls pain (I get it in my joints). It replaced the after work cocktails I was previously using to try to unwind from a hard day. And the occasional stress overeating, that I also did. And also with the nausea eating - you know, you're always nibbling on something because your stomach doesn't feel settled. (Yes, I know MJ's supposed to make you more hungry, but I noticed that it was more like it made food more appealing. So when I eat, I slow down and enjoy what I'm eating more. I'm not in the kitchen looking for Scooby snacks all the time, though, because quite often, smoking makes me relax and feel like I don't need comfort food. I think it helped me lose weight, even.)
One other benefit might be worth mentioning - it brought back my libido and made orgasms way more powerful. Like, mindblowing. (Even though I have mechanical problems due to the hormone suppression, so it's not partner sex. I still value it greatly though, and consider that single women deserve a sex life, too, even if it's solitary.)
I've tried edibles, oils, vaping. I usually just get the flower, though, and load it in a water pipe. It's easy to overdo it when you're working with higher concentrations. One thing I was told: if you get too high, you should eat something, and that will help bring you back to earth. Also, it helps to remember that no one ever died from an overdose, no matter how uncomfortable they felt at the time.
As for the cost, it's unbelievably cheap for me, but that's because there's a price war going on where I live. As the 70 or so dispensaries in my town fight it out, there are so many great deals around. I believe as it gets legalized and regulated in more states, the prices will go up and will reflect more of the costs of doing business in a community.

Hi Nine-Twelve
I have a question about cannabis plz. I thought (from watching news programs like 20/20 and 60 minutes), that one can go to a cannabis store (in a legal state) and order off a menu - example "I'd like something that will give me energy" then another strain will make you sleep, and another strain will calm you down... ect…. so one would be able to buy different strains for different situations. I hope this is true - I live for the day our state legalizes medical (at least) - because now I have to get 'pot luck' from a friend of a friend of a friend. Never know what its going to do to me.
I am curious because you said the cannabis you take makes you 'lazy, depressed and isolated'
The last stuff I had was wonderful. I wanted to laugh and dance and stretch and go outside and talk a walk - I felt wonderful for 4 hours. The next 'batch' I got, all it did was make me sleepy and eat. Like I said, its all 'pot luck' In a non legal state. Love to hear your thoughts. -
hello reporting in with trying a different strength of RSO. I couldn’t handle the 1:1 I tried before...the pharmacist at the MM dispensary recommended (kinda pushed me) to get the 15:1 RSO CBD:THC and I think I am handling it so much better. I feel fine and good on it! Hope I sleep well tonight fingers crosse
-
I use THC at night to help with sleep. You start with a very small amount, about the size of 1\2 of a grain of rice. The oil is called RSO. You can Google Rick Simpson Oil and get all kinds of information. I only take this at night.
I also use a hybrid, 2:1 CBD\THC before I have my PET scans. It helps me with anxiety and keeps me calm. This combo is not as potent and I can function with it during the day.
-
I think I must be so sensitive! I tried the 15:1 CBD:THC last night before bed and had the worst nights sleep and kept waking up with the driest mouth! Not sure I can handle this medicine :-
-
I also just got my card to make it legal to use it medically. I'm one of those people that never tried it in high school, college etc. So while I was not against it, I had no experience. After 2 years of very little sleep, and the beginning of the horrible joint pain from the drugs, I gave in and got my card and some edibles.
I think my anxiety about using it is throwing me off. So happy this topic was posted.
-
I was told insurance doesn't pay, because it's still illegal federally.

Can you add me to that Facebook group, I'm very interested in this particular subject
-
Grammie, it's not my FB page. I might be able to invite you, of course I would need your name to invite. Or, you might just be able to ask to join Here is the link for starters

I originally started on high doses of THC, they call it FECO on the site, fully extracted cannabis oil. But since joining and their own research and data they collect from members, they are finding that it's not a good idea for ER, PR + to use it, except in only low doses.

hello ladies,
Recently i had PETSCAN and there was small light in my liver. After doing further CT scan , my ONC is still not able to decide if its malignant or benign. The size is too small to do biopsy so waiting for more follow ups.
After going through AC and Taxol, double Mastectomy, lymph node removal and Radiation I don't think i can handle anymore chemo. So I was also thinking to go through holistic approach. I have legal medical card and thinking to try RSO. I have heard mixed reviews about it. I am reading some articles but I have less idea on it. I am triple negative and metastasis to lymph node. I want to try RSO before i decided on further chemo treatment.
Could you please provide any suggestion. I am scared and not sure where to start or how to even i want to take RSO.
Take care

I have never followed a particular regimen when it comes to cannabis. I have a very high tolerance for THC but even I would not be able to function too well following the whole Rick Simpson protocol. Since I work full time definitely not an option. I did buy one syringe ( 1 gram) of FECO, full extract cannabis oil and only used it after work. Sticky, gooey and awful tasting, my experiment ended there. The protocol suggests that one should build up to taking a full gram a day. Don't know if it would help my bc, but I would be so high that I couldn't function. Reminds of a bad experience I had ingesting hash oil when I was Peace Corps volunteer. It certainly has the same awful taste
Grammieshell, start low and slow on the edibles and look into products that contain CBD in a higher ratio than THC. After that, you'll just have to experiment a bit until you find formulations that work best for you. Cookies, chocolates and gummies are tasty but they are high in sugar. Many great capsules are available, but a sweet treat is ok now and then. Brands vary widely by state. I'm in CA and my favorite capsule brand is Papa&Barkely followed by ABX (Absolute extracts) and CBD (care by design).
I use cannabis strictly for symptom relief. Sorry that I can't offer any help for naesha or any wishing to use it for disease tx. Feel free to ask me any questions about cannabis for symptom relief. Best to all
-
I did do the Rick Simpson protocol and worked up to a gram a day for 3 months. At first my markers dropped and then they started to escalate. Not cheap either!!!

the link doesn't work

Hi everyone, I live in an illegal cannabis state. (I've said this before )- I hope you know how lucky you are to be able to go into a cannabis store and pick out high quality product - to do what you need it to do. I have to take "Pot Luck" and buy from a friend of a friend of a friend and never know what I'm going to get. Luckily I got some Great stuff to smoke - that takes ALL of my pain away, makes me want to do things, smile, dance and stretch and exercise. When I smoke this, I don't need any pain medication. I can function.
I cannot imagine being able to go I into a store and discussing with a "bud Tender" which brand would be best for my needs.
Grammieshell - that's the beauty of a dispensary - you can discuss with them your a first time user and they will work with you.
-
Grammie, I sent you a FB friend request, first name is Lori with a similar picture that is in my avatar.

rljes,
Even though I’ve had legal access for several years, it’s still quite strange to walk into a place where everything is legal, professionally displayed and knowledgeable staff at the ready. I rarely go on to the main sales area as I order on line and pick up to save time.My place delivers as do many dispensaries in my area.
I used recreationally in my youth and occasionally as an adult so I understand the “who knows what I’m buying” feeling. It really is amazing to have clear labeling of strains, CBD/THC content etc,, not to mention a variety of ways to consume. I hope your state goes legal soon
