Can a lump/mass just appear overnight

I noticed 2 days ago a lump/mass on my outer middle left breast around 3 o'clock position. It feels huge. I am 53 with a recent history of ALH (excision biopsy 11/18).

I have a history of cysts etc but I have never felt one and this is the 1st time I have actually felt a lump/mass in my breast.

Should I see my breast surgeon? or wait to see if it goes away?

    Yes, mine appeared suddenly after a clear mammogram. I would definitely get it checked out.

    Thanks so much for the reply Peregrinelady, I appreciate you sharing your experience. The appearance of a lump is disturbing since I have ALH in same breast. I have appt. 21 Mar with BS and hoping that it will disappear by then so I can cancel appt.
