I’m new to this site and feeling apprehensive. I attended the breast clinic on Saturday (my appointment was due two weeks earlier but was postponed twice as the consultant was stuck in Pakistan). My referral was due to some nipple discharge on my left breast.

Anyway, it seems from the mammogram and ultrasound that the left side is fine, but the radiologist found a susp area in my right breast and performed a core needle biopsy.

I’ve been told that I have an appointment at 3pm today provided they have had a chance to review the results. I think I would have heard by now if they were going to postpone it.

I am currently feeling a bit stressed and worried. It’s hard not to dwell on it.

    Hey FrenchPorsche,

Totally normal to be stressed and worried! Do what you can for yourself intellectually (e.g., keep reminding yourself how many biopsies are benign, how very early you would have caught it if it is cancer, etc. But I find what helps most for me is less in my head. Addicting phone games, intense exercise, interacting with teenagers/children - something that takes you out of yourself for a bit.

    Hang in there!

    FrenchPorshe,

Welcome to Breastcancer.org! We're sending positive thoughts your way for benign results -- keep us posted!

Salamandra offers great advice -- try to keep yourself busy to lessen the worry until your appointment. It is easier said than done, for sure, but give it a try!

We look forward to hearing back from you soon!

Thank you for the replies! I’ve started a new thread based on the results today... it’s still a waiting game for me.
