Awaiting results of punch biopsy for Pagets
Hello, I'm 37 and since last summer, I have had several issues with my left nipple. Through the summer & fall, this nipple would peel & become sensitive, look normal, then start peeling again about a week later. I mentioned this to my gyn in August who did not know the cause & said to see a dermatologist. I put it off due to the the
nipple looking almost normal when not peeling, my prior derm not taking my insurance & new derm having a 3 month wait. I did see my gyn again in the fall for this issue & she said eczema & prescribed a topical steroid which seemed to make it worse. In the meantime, I tried every cream under the sun to no avail. Saw a breast surgeon & derm finally last month, both of which said it's just skin irritation. In the past month, the peeling has mostly stopped but now the nipple gets very red & irritated usually almost every day. It most often happens to when I am not wearing a bra. It also gets painful. Again, surgeon said it's nothing & the derm did a punch biopsy yesterday for as she said “peace of mind." I, however, have been convinced it's pagets since it first started but no one would listen. When it gets red, it does extend to the areola very slightly, just around the base of the nipple and the redness will resolve it a couple hours to day then come back. Did anyone have pagets with this pattern? Redness & pain then gets better then comes back? And seeming to be caused by being braless? I read some stupid article online last night that pagets is associated with more aggressive invasive cancers & I am scared out of my mind. This article also mentioned pagets spreading from the nipple out which mine seems to do.I'm a single mom with 2 kids who need their mother...

hi,
I’m going through the same thing as you, since last summer I have also had the same symptoms as you being fobbed of by the drs with cream etc, finally got reffered to the breast clinic Wednesday but the 2 ultra sound people were of ill so I was unable to have an ultrasound.. the specialist mentioned pagets to me, I already read about it on Google so I knew what it was I’m waiting for another app for a ultrasound and he said he wanted to do a biopsy to! I also have a little girl aged 7 so im in panic mode!
Pagets is very rare is what I keep telling my self,
I hope your results come back clear. I know how you feel! X

I know how you feel. Waiting for my punch biopsy results and I still can’t imagine it coming back positive, as concerned as I am about pagets. I’ve only considered a negative result, I don’t know how I will deal otherwise. I’m dreading the call either way. I’m hoping it’s just some weird allergy..I actually had a reaction to the bandaid that I had on the area after the biopsy. 4 days later and my breast skin almost looks burned where the adhesive was. Then I wonder maybe it’s so sensitive because of whatever is going on inside. It’s hard not to go to the bad place. My kids are too young, and I’m too young for it to be “bad”...

I hope you are feeling a bit better? I really hope they call you soon and give you that all clear!!
Try not worry ( I know it’s easier said than done) it could be so many different things!
It’s driving me mad now to! Finally have my ultra sound app for tomorrow, so hopefully I find out more what is going on there and the next steps regarding the biopsy
Starting to wish I never read up on pagets find my self endlessly googling all sorts! So I tried to google positive stories that turned out not to be cancer which has made me feel abit more at ease
I just can’t wait to have a Normal nipple and find the cause of this! Sick of changing my bra a few times a day lol!
Stay strong, and please do keep me posted!!

Hi there, just checking in to see if you've received your biopsy results yet? I'm 45 with 9 year old twins, and have many of the same symptoms...itching, peeling, slight discharge, and my nipple seems to be slightly flattening. I just left the dermatologist's office. She did a biopsy, thank god, but said I shouldn't worry (easier said than done) as she really doesn't think it's Paget's. Anyway, as you know, I'll find out in 1-2 weeks. Wishing you all the best.

I finally got my results today. It’s all normal but shows some dilated blood vessels. Not sure why that is but not trying to read into it too much.

the waiting is the hardest thing about all of this. Had my punch biopsy yesterday on the 7th. Just want the phone to ring and say good or bad. So I can get on with what ever I am a bi-rad 4c mass 5 mm with blood flow.
