Radiation after lumpectomy

I am in the middle of my radiation and my MO waited until my surgery healed which was 2 months later.

Hi Karmic... I had my lumpectomy on August 22, and started radiation in early October- about 5 weeks apart.

My BS counted from the time of my re-excision, which was August 8th last year. I had to have another, bigger, unrelated surgery on September 18th. By mid-October, the RO's nurse was calling and nagging me to come in for my set-up and get started. I did that, but insisted on waiting until October 29th to start treatments. That was the last date agreeable to everyone, so it seems like 12 weeks to start is the limit on the window of optimal treatment time.

Ick, I was still hurting and cranky as hell the first few weeks because of the position I had to be in. But I'm glad I got it over with.
