    Beautiful photo of Costa Rica and Bruges. I love the swan photo with the bridge.

    I am at my Mom's house now visiting. She is now in a facility about 25 min away. I had my repeat brain MRI last week and what is disconcerting is they now are saying this small mass is something different than they thought three months ago. A friend who had a massive benign brain tumor removed when she was much younger told me I should get a second opinion. I will be doing PT in March for balance as my specialist thinks my issues are coming from the neck even though I don't need surgery for that after having an MRI of the neck.

    I am itching for more chances to use my new camera but it is hard to find time at my Mom's now that she is in this facility. Love seeing all the photos. Keep posting.


    This is the swan family that started my passion for photography as a result of my breast cancer diagnosed in 2014. I watched the two adult swans every day back and forth from my radiation treatments and then they had babies. I have this photo framed over my sofa now.

    Nancy, that's a lovely photo of swans and meaningful as well. I'm sorry your brain MRI shows something different than they thought three months ago. I think getting a second opinion is a good idea and I pray it's not too serious and you have peace.

    How is your Mom?

    Thanks Aussie. I hope you are feeling better. I took this pic tonight after leaving my Mom's facility. She lives near a nice lake and the sun was setting so it gave me a tiny slice of time to take some pics.

    Thanks Cathy. I'm glad you are feeling better.

    The gulls were everywhere below the dam today. I had a just a few minutes on the way to visit my Mom. It gave me a chance to try out this new camera on some birds. Very difficult with low light today. The gulls were taking turns standing on this rock. Most were trying to catch fish.

    Thanks Cathy. I will be going back home on Saturday. I'll be starting my PT for balance this coming week. The weather is getting worse instead of more spring like and Sunday looks like more snow. It is very cold here now. The winter has mostly been below average temps in general I think since Jan. I can't wait for spring flowers and something with some color to dot the landscape. Take care and I hope you have gotten over your cold.

    Thanks, Nancy. My cold hasn't quite gone yet but I don't feel too bad. We are having a heatwave here. It's meant to be 37C here today! It was even hotter yesterday.

    I'm sorry your weather is so cold and I pray that springs arrives soon for you. I hope travelling back home goes okay and your PT goes well. You take care too.

    Cathy, hope your cold will be long gone soon. We are going back into the deep freeze in a couple of days. Today was pretty nice and while my Mom had her hair apt I went to a local park with my camera.

    These two pairs of ducks were really chatting it up.

    I'm glad you've had some nice weather although it's sad that it will be getting cold again. Those ducks do look friendly, LOL! Awww, the squirrel is so cute!! We don't have them here.

    I was x-c skiing with my sisters, near Parkdale, OR day before yesterday, on Monday. Quite different from the San Diego/SoCal scenery this time of year! Portland rarely gets winter snow, but my sister's orchard is at 2200' elevation, near Mt. Hood (obviously!). It's in the Hood River Valley, just 80 minutes from Portland.

    My sister snapped this of me, and we're x-c skiing in her (dormant trees in the winter) cherry orchard, where there are two feet of snow right now. It's a victory that I'm doing something outdoors and exercise-y in the photo, since in 2018 I had foot surgery in February, then breast cancer DX and TX and then more foot surgery. I LITERALLY had one "screw loose" from my February foot-bone fusions, and had it removed in December.

    This is a delightful thread which I just found. I will share more photos, but so far I'm loving look at everyone's views of the world. Thanks for sharing!

    love seeing Mt. Hood. Our friends live in White Salmon high overlooking the Columbia River with Mt Hood to their left. I just talked with them last night and they said that they had show. Glad you are vertical!

    Lisa, your painted lady butterfly makes me so excited. I just got a notification yesterday that the Monarchs have enter the country. I was thrilled to hear that. It is a map where you can track their northern migration. You should be seeing them soon. We won't see them for a couple months probably with the weather like it is now. Love your photo of the beautiful park.

    Hiking lady, looks like you had some good snow for cross country skiing. Would love to see some of your photos.

    bandwoman1234 I've planted a few Milkweeds to attract Monarchs for this next year

    SoCalLisa: I grew up in Parkdale, OR, quite close to White Salmon! YES, I am now vertical and a biped, after some foot surgery in addition to the breast cancer trauma in 2018.

    Lisa, we're still in the dead of winter right now but things are shifting a bit and rain is in the forecast with a little higher temps. We are a long ways away from seeing any milkweed plants growing yet.

    Hiking, I am not sure what the difference between Eastern Tigerswallow Tail but that is what we have here. It is I think my favorite. I will have to post more butterflies. That is a great pic. I just started PT for balance today so my month of March is really full when I will still try to get my lap swimming in and hopefully some camera time. They discovered a brain tumor in November so one thing led to another and another and PT is a result of some of their findings. My name is Nancy and feel free to call me that which is much easier that typing my username.

    Hiking, I wanted to see what the difference is in the Eastern vs Western Tiger Swallowtail. At any rate I love the yellow swallowtails.

    bandwoman1234 Oh, that's gorgeous! I'm going to research the differences. There must be a subtle color variation somewhere. On a few identification sites online, I see that Western and Eastern are definitely associated with geography. In Oregon, it would definitely be the Western one, and east coast definitely the Eastern. Still haven't found an exact identifying site where we can see the differences described.

    My new garden goals include more butterfly habitat plants. Just added Milkweed, so we'll see if any Monarchs find my garden this year.
