Breast changes after radiation

I completed radiation about a year ago. My breast has contracted and is way smaller than the untreated. Now, I'm noticing the nipple is starting to sink inwards. Has anyone else noticed this? I had a partial mastectomy.

I hope someone else will chime in, but all I can think of is you had some residual fluid that took a while to be absorbed. I know at one check-up following my 2016 lumpectomy (which was a large chunk), my BS said, "Hmmm--it shouldn't look this good" and when he did an ultrasound he found a lot of fluid that he then drained. The breast got a lot smaller after that. If you're concerned, maybe check in with your BS?

Thanks for the response. I did think for a long time that it looked really good. Better than the untreated one. I think I'll take your advice and let my doctor know. Hopefully she can give me reassurance.

I had an exam today and the doctor ordered an ultrasound. It could be related to the radiation or it could be cancer behind the nipple which is close to where the original tumor was. So I'll have answers in Monday. I'm glad I contacted the doctor.
