    Hi,

My path was T2N2M0 grade 2 ER+/PR+, HER2- and I get 1b with the new staging. I used the following:

    Well,

I had bilateral suckers stage 3A on one side 1A the other. 5 suckers total biggest one was 3.5 cm. Sentinel nodes on my left were clear but 4out 17 on my worse side had cancer cells. Had no choice other than letting my BS cut my boobs off. 8dose dense chemos.the last one even came in on day 13 instead of 14. 30rads followed. Total hysterectomy followed. Just for good measure I added in elbow lump removal and colonoscopy within the same calendar year. Calendar 2017was a very busy year. Had 240 medical claims in 2017. Went back to my old job full time after all done.

Forgot to mention my mom survived ovarian and breast cancer. She was given 6mo to yr at ovarian DX. Took estrogen pills which probably caused breast cancer. And pop survived mini stroke followed by moderate stroke both within 30 day period. Pop was 91 yrs old. He is 92 now.

What I am saying is as long as you have the attitude you will do what ever is needed. There is some thing only your maker can and will control. I know because I should not be alive. I had 10plus almost yearly clean mammos since my early 30s and was going to postpone the infamous mammo which landed me on a year long sucker treatment schedule. You will and should see your child get married and hand you a beautiful grandchildren to spoil.

Magnolia, the prognostic staging applies only to those who’ve had surgery prior to chemo. The prognostic staging for those of us who’ve had neoadjuvant chemo is being worked on and not yet available

    Thanks Salamandra and Lillo57!

Anyone know if this calculator is accurate? It has been giving me peace of mind. My oncologist said yes when I asked him, but I don't know if he knew what calculator I was referring to and it shows a better average prognosis than he gave me.

Bestrongforeveryone- if you search my name, you will see my panic driven early posts. I too have young kids and felt like I had to prepare myself to die. It is a year later and I'm still here. The prognosis for stage 3 has been terrifying for me. It was a trying year of treatment, yet through the fear and difficulty, there were still moments of beauty. Life feels more valuable now and I appreciate it more than ever. I hope and pray that I get to continue to take care of my children and grow old with my husband and am still adapting to the fact that I may not. I realize now there are no guarantees for anyone. We all live these lives full of beauty and fragility, some of us just haven't realized it yet. It took cancer to make this abundantly true for me. I wish you peace and hope as you begin your treatments.

I think you are in a good position because you also had some clear nodes. I had four nodes removed that tested clear in the OR but in pathology two had tumors and two had cells. I am considering asking the surgeon to remove the next level of nodes for peace of mind, at the risk of lymphedema. In my mind, what if nodes 5, 6, etc have cells in them too and the chemo and rads don't kill them? So I see it as a good thing that you had some clear nodes, instead of a bad thing that you had some positive ones. :)
