Good Morning, Ladies

I am contemplating whether or not to have this surgery and was wondering how many of you have had this surgery?

I would really appreciate hearing from those who have and if you were satisfied with the outcome.

Thanks so much,.

Hey there I just had this done 4 weeks ago so I can only tell you how the surgery went. It can take months to a year before you can see final results. I have already noticed improvement in my arm. I have to keep my hand taped or it swells just not a bad as before. I started my LE treatment within a few weeks of the first flare up so I'm hoping for optimal results. Feel free to add and PM me if you want to discussed it.

From what I have heard, some insurances do - some do not.  I have a Medicare-Advantage Plan with United Health Care and they said they would cover it.  I am going to have a consultation with Dr. Mithani at Duke (Durham, NC) but I am sure there are a few surgeons in several states who can perform this surgery.

I had a prophylactic lymphovenous bypass with my MX and lymph node removal. Certainly different than a node transfer, but same microsurgery techniques. I believe there are only a few places doing it, and I think node transfer is preferred if you are already experiencing LE. So far, so good. My surgeon said he felt good about the vessels he was able to connect. There is not a lot of long term data yet, but I'm very happy I went forward with it.

Hi, have you found much info about this? I just saw Dr Chen at University of Iowa and that's what he is recommending, but I am finding very little online. Thanks!
