What are the dyes used in your surgery

And what is their propose exactly

Did you all use both radio active and blue dyes

    My doctor used both blue dye and a radioactive isotope to locate the sentinel node. I am glad she did because I had a positive node, so super glad that was taken out!!!!

    I had both dyes. Be aware that depending on how much of the blue dye is used and how your body works, the blue dye can persist for a long time. I'm 14 months past surgery and still have traces of blue on my breast.

    like the ^^ says, they're important to help the surgeon find the lymph nodes. Lymph nodes are not like blood vessels or other organs - they're hard to visualize so they need these tracers to help them see what they should be sampling.

    She removed three nodes near the tumor and sending for pathology.

    Also in pet scan there is right supraclavicular node of 1.7 SUV.

    May be the blue dye also showed that in the lumpectomy surgery.

    The doc removed that too and sending for pathology.
