Leaf, I just found this thread and had a jolt of alarm. In a way, I'm glad I found it late and your last post is here - I am so glad and relieved.

tamoxifen is not given to try and "clear" or "cure" LCIS, it is given as a preventative medication to help prevent an invasive breast cancer , such as ILC or IDC from occuring in the future. That being said, I took tamox for 5 years, then I took Evista for about 7 years (on and off); I haven't had any further issues (diagnoses , lumpectomies, or biopsies) in the 15 years since my original diagnosis of LCIS back in 2003.

Congratulations Leaf! Good news spanning lack of a painful biopsy all the way to the results.

Beep7bop, I am sure March 7 cannot get here fast enough for you. The 4's are better than a 5 and your radiologist could have chosen a 5 for you but did not.

Published Jan 9, 2018 in the Radiology Society of North America,

ACR BI-RADS Assessment Category 4 Subdivisions in Diagnostic Mammography: Utilization and Outcomes in the National Mammography Database

    The PPV (positive predictive value) of 4A was 7.6% (1274 of 16 784), that of 4B was 22% (2317 of 10 408), and that of 4C was 69.3% (2839 of 4099).

I had one bi-rads 5 (80%-97% chance of malignancy) that was atypia and not cancer.

Hopefully it is still just ADH, ALH but early detection is the key to saving lives, so be glad you were vigilant in your screenings and that you will have an answer soon.

The waiting sucks. Hoping you get good news.

bee7bop, for what it's worth, I had a BI-RADS 4 that ended up being nothing (I had a core biopsy, and an excision). I go back for a mammo on March 7, so we'll be in a similar headspace, if that helps! Thinking of you and hoping for good results.
