What does "bone pain" feel like?

Options

I've been having weird unexplainable pains, and of course, since I had BC surgery, I am paranoid about it.. :/

The main place the pain is concerning me is my thigh. I get the pains when I'm at rest, working on the computer.

A few days ago, I got an unexplained pain in the index finger on my left hand.

I know I need to go into the doctor, but I am very short on money at the moment, as everything went up for me--my car insurance, homeowners insurance, and my property taxes, plus I owe the IRS..I could go on and on. i've just been putting off dr visits and a bunch of other stuff, just to make my bills and not lose my house :(

And also, I am so grateful for this forum, as I really don't want to burden any of my friends with any of this..I know they will panic.

My MO told me that pain from metastasis, once it develops, will not come and go; it'll come and stay, and get worse over time. I do not know if that is true for everyone or not, but I try to remember it when I get nervous abut a new pain. He also says that any persistent symptom, lasting more than 2 weeks, he wants to know about.

I believe Planned Parenthood can get you scans, etc, at low cost. Or, another idea is to identify a nonprofit hospital. They will not hound you and you can pay slowly.

The finger pain is unlikely to be from metastatic disease. More common sites to be involved include the central part of the skeleton - spine, ribs, skull, shoulder blade, pelvis, sternum, clavicle. That’s where mine are anyway.

Muscular thigh discomfort would be different from the deep ache that I’ve heard described. KB is right about the persistent pain which does not relent but worsens. My affected vertebrae felt like a hand pressing on them.

To save money, try getting all your insurance from one company and consider raising the deductibles. Sounds like you are very conscientious about paying bills. Just don’t let your health suffer!

ok, thanks everybody! I'm getting old..maybe it's arthritis lol

Esp when I feel the finger pain, it feels like it's around the joints. Ugh.

The thigh pain could be referred pain from another area in your back or pelvis. I have referred pain at the moment but it only hurts on movement.

Try paracetamol alternating with ibuporfen (get advice from your pharmacist about this) plus heat pack, warm bath and see if any of this helps.
