Had prosigna test and in med range but higher side of med so that's why they recommend me taking tamoxifen.had lumpectomy L breast, 20 days RAD and started on Letrzole for 2 month and depression kicked in and changed to tamoxifen. Been on Tamoxifen since oct 2018 and I'm having awful time with breathing when I lay down and pressure on chest feeling like something stuck in throat and coughing like crazy. Seen 2 ENTs and one said I'm fine and other said it's reflux. Took reflux meds for 1 month and no relief. Had PETSCAN, chest X-ray, CT scan all looked fine. Going to gastro for esophagus and colon check. I'm feeling it's just the tamoxifen. Was off of it per my Chemo doctor for a week and a half but since I still had symptoms she felt it wasn't the tamoxifen and told me to restart taking again. 3-4 days on it I was coughing like made. I took myself off it till I contact doctor to see what's next. Anyone else have these horrible symptoms? Not to mention my PETSCAN showed abnormal and they want colon checked. Hi Wendy, and we are so sorry to hear what you are going through. Indeed, shortness of breath can be associated with Tamoxifen: https://www.breastcancer.org/treatment/hormonal/se...

Take a look, and we hope you hear from others. Perhaps a second opinion could be helpful to you, if possible.

Tamoxifen can take a really long time to get out of your system. Some of the SE's that I was having didn't improve until about three weeks off of it.

Yea I did think a week and a half was long enough. Florida cancer specialist is extremely hard to get ahold of or call me back about this. All they wanna do is make appointments and I just seen them on the 8th of February. Nothing different to tell them other then CHANGE MY Meds!!! If they don’t respond today I’m hopefully changing doctors. The receptionist excuse is they are extremely busy. BULL, take 2 minutes to call me and switch meds. I’m going to a pulmonary doctor to be sure no damage was made to my esophagus and or lungs.

Had PETSCAN and all checked out ok, so if pulmonary doctor says AOK then it has to be meds causing my cough and hard time breathing if I lay down onback
