Hello All,

My Mom was diagnosed with recurrent BC in jan 2017 with Mets to ribs and sternum, As hormone receptor is ER/PR + our oncologist suggested to go with hormonal therapy (Letrozole 2.5 mg). As per the latest PET scan took on May 2018 there is no metabolically active disease anywhere in body and still we are continuing with Femara + Zoldrenic acid (3 months once). Is there any progression free survival rates available while using Femara for MBC. how long can you be on letrozole for metastatic cancer and help to share your thoughts if any is using the same treatment regimen

I was dx'ed with a single bone met over 7 years ago. I was on Anastrozole for two years and have now been on letrozole,(Femara) for over five years. As far as I know, there is no time limit for this drug. Ican and will be on it as long as I have no progression. Best of luck to your mom.

    Hello exbrnxgrl,

Many Thanks for the reply, Your words gave me more hope. My Mom has the same case history like you are ongoing. She was intially diagnosed in 2011 at that we haven't check for hormone receptor status. She had a recurrence in 2017 with Mets to sternum, ribs and we found hormone receptor status was ER (8/8)/PR(4/8) and she started on Femara last Apr 2017. As per the last PET SCAN dated may 2018 there is no evidence of metabolically active disease in body and complete response to hormone therapy. I just wanted to how long will Femara work for her and i wanted to make sure that i gave best treatment for her
