hi everyone,

I found a lump in my left breast under the nipple. I have very large breasts but the lump feels like a decent sized lump. It’s very tender to the touch and I had hoped that it would go away after my period but it hasn’t. I’m calling the doctor first thing in the morning but I’m freaking out until then. I’ve also had some soreness in the shoulder and neck but have dismissed it as something I pulled in a workout and the need for a new mattress (ours is horrible and lumpy). After googling symptoms the combination of the lump and the neck pain hasme terrified. My husband is also not coping very well. Praying that I can get seen right away and that this is nothing but I’m so worried I can’t think straight.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Praying with you that you get to see your doctor tomorrow and that your fears are not confirmed! Whatever happens, feel free to vent here -- that's a good part of why most of us are here, because it is a safe spot.

Hey there Nnguy, we all know how terrifying it is to find a lump and the waiting game to find out what it is. Most people advise not to use Google, because it is often out of date.. or presents us with more information than we really need - there are so many things that can cause a lump.

You will feel better once you know what’s going on, and seeing the Dr is the first best thing to do. They will send you off for tests to determine what the lump is. Once you have that information you will feel more in control of your situation.

You are lucky in so far as we are living in a world that provides so many successful treatments for cancer, so if that is your diagnosis, don’t be afraid. This site is great for asking questions, or just floating around reading posts. Come back and let us know how you are getting on.

We are holding your hand through this,

    Jackie

It is really too early to be worried. A great percentage of lumps are benign. Your neck pain could be absolutely unrelated. Until they tell you that you need a biopsy and they give you a BIRADS rating for that don't get too ahead of yourself.
