Concerned about metastatic report
Hi i wrote this in another thread but no response. Repeating here, out of anxiety n nervousness. Pls comment
I was diagnosed with multifocal idc with lympho vascular invasion. ( Post surgery : Tumor no1 was.8mm grade 2. Tumor no 2 & 3 24mm grade1. Tumor no 3 was dcis. total area 34mm). 2 n 3 i guess were in same vicinity.
(pre surgery multifocal both lower quadrants total area 55mm).
I had my masectomy on jan 25th. My sentinal node report came with one positive node and 1 negative node. I was referred for lungs liver. Bone ct scan last week. My surgery for axillary node dissection is scheduled for this friday. 22 feb. Yesterday i got a call from hospital that my consultant wants to see me to come on 21st feb i.e this thursday.to discuss my test reports. I am really scared..God forbid there is something metastatic that is why i am being called. They didnt mention anything abt the impending surgery on friday also. Does this call for consultation means something concerning has come up in my body scan?

I would think if that were the case they would bring you in immediately and your surgery may have been changed. When I went in. I also met the day before for weight blood pressure and pre admission blood work to check my counts and make sure I was stable. Also. To talk to the doctor who was putting me under. If it was an emergency, I think they would be hurrying you into medicine and get you started with therapy. Just my opinion. I am hoping that it’s all routine for you!!

Thanks so much micmel for yr prompt reply.. i hope what u r saying turns true. What is making me nervous is that..the caller said come on thursday the consultant wants to discuss yr body scan reports. She didn't mention abt pre surgery blood test.. l had all d pre surgery regular tests a couple of days bfore my masectomy. No such upgrade prior to my axillary lymph node dissection. I had my chest n liver scan last sunday i.e 10 th feb. N bone scan last wednesday that is 13 feb.. all under nhs ..london

Maybe you do not need to wait till Thursday to find out what's going on... Call your doctor and ask for a call back. Tell them you are horribilizing in your mind and you want to know what is/isnt happening before Thurs. If it were me, I'd ask directly if your treatment plan is going to be changed, and ask for a response that day. I'd let them know you prefer to know what is happening over the phone than to wait 4 more days. Maybe they could squeeze you in Monday if they insist on it being in person.
These waits are terrible!

I would not wait either. I would call Monday and ask for the results. Are your results posted to an online portal that you can see them? If not, call and go get a copy of your results. They may charge you to copy them, but they have to give them to you because you have a right to your medical records.
