Armpit pressure with lumps Is it likely to be cancer? Scared

I'm not quite sure how to describe it, but I've been having a feeling of discomfort or pressure around the side of my breast and left armpit the last 5-6 days, and I found a new lump in my left breast. I have another one in there I was already aware of and some in my right breast. This feeling in my armpit is not constant, and It's lessened greatly the last couple of days, but I've still felt it some today and yesterday. I wouldn't call it pain. It doesn't hurt, it just feels uncomfortable. I was on my period, so I think it might be because of that, but I've never had that particular symptom when on my period. I've pressed on my armpit and around that area many times trying to feel a lump or swelling and I haven't felt a lump in my actual armpit, but it's hard to tell anything in there. I've felt some pressure in my right armpit as well.

I've had lumps in my breasts for over a year now, and I know it's foolish, but I put off seeing the DR because I'm so modest It's stressing me badly to think about being examined there. I'm only 26 and i used to be a heavy coffee, pop, and tea drinker so I convinced myself I was too young and that the lumps were just because of all the caffeine. I regret that now.

I finally trying to set up a DR appointment, but they didn't have an appointment available so I don't know how long It will take me to get seen.

DawnWings, You are doing the right thing by making an appointment. Your gyn should be able to get you in quickly if you tell them you feel a lump. If you don't have a gynecologist yet your primary doctor should get you in within a day or so. Please keep trying. My breasts have always been lumpy, bumpy but they were also very cystic (benign). Caffeine and my period would make it worse. You may very well be the same but you are wise to get it checked. If you would be more comfortable with a female (or male) doctor make that known when you call them.

I am sure you are fine but I agree, let them know about the lump and ask for a first available appointment and they should accommodate you. I relate to feeling upset by breast exams but I just remind myself that doctors do dozens of these per day and to them, it's just another body part like an elbow or an ankle. I know that doesn't lessen your own reaction and I know that's valid, but your peace of mind is worth seeing a professional. I do feel more comfortable with female doctors but know they aren't always available, especially not in smaller towns. Good luck and hope all is well!

To ease your mind, It is not likely to be cancer, but it is a good idea to get any breast changes checked out. If you are even anxious about being seen by a female doctor, then it may help to talk to a professional therapist to help you manage that. I'm guessing that if your uncomfortable with a breast exam, you likely have not had a pelvic exam either. Both are important to maintain good health. Good luck
