invasive ductal carcinoma with lobular growth features
Hello:
First of all, I am so sorry you are likely dealing with breast cancer since you are on this website. I was just diagnosed this week with IDC with lobular growth features. I don't meet with the oncologist for another five days so I am trying to keep calm yet have some idea of what I am dealing with. My tumor is .7 cm so I think relatively small. I have a Nottingham histologic grade of 2 out of 3 and am positive for E-cadherin and membranous p120. Seriously, I thought the law had a lot of crazy terminology! I just feel like I am frozen not knowing what is coming next. If anyone has had something similar, could you let me know about your path?

I also had IDC with Lobular Features, also called Mixed Type on one of my pathology reports. Mine was 1.4 x 1.3 x 1.2 cm., grade 1, stage 1B. There are lots of studies/papers about this type online. More likely to be in the first sentinel node but less likely to spread from there. Usually ER+, PR+ and Her2-. My Onco score was very low (3) and so I had 36 radiation treatments and am now taking Arimidex. Best Wishes!

I also was just diagnosed with that -- pathology report called it "mammary carcinoma with lobular features" Mine was 1.3cm on ultrasound, but 2.5 cm on the breast MRI. They also found DCIS on the MRI that didn't show up on the ultra sound. I have been reading and reading for 4 months. It's taken so long because I switched hospitals and then had to wait for so many tests. Finally decided on a lumpectomy which will be next Thursday. I posted an article on the "mixed carcinoma" forum that says this subtype of cancer has a better prognosis than both IDC and ILC --- so maybe we are lucky. There really hasn't been much study of it. Mine was also E/P positive and Her2 neg and KI-67 was a 6. Since we have to have cancer this may be a good one to have.
