53 year old female - no cycle for 10 years. Found mass in right breast in August 2018. Will be going in for my 6 month dx mammogram and ultrasound follow-up in about 3 weeks. When first found, it was non-palatable. As the six month waiting period has progressed:

  1. Seems to be palatable now.
  2. Often it feels bigger than a few weeks ago - depends on position.
  3. Sometimes it feels as if there is some swelling in my armpit – same side as mass.
  4. Sporadically there is an aching/burning sensation in the area where the mass is located .It will sometimes feel 'heavier' if that is possible.
  5. Occasionally it looks as if there is a small dent on the side of my breast just below mass location.
  • asymmetric density in upper outer quadrant
  • hypoechoic nodule or cyst with internal septation/internal debris 10 o'clock; 5-6 cmfn
  • corresponds to mammogram findings
  • Hypoechoic area with echogenic center
Has anyone experienced a progression of symptoms while waiting for follow up? If so, what happened with your diagnosis? Any thoughts on mine? Any insights, thoughts, etc would be greatly appreciated. Have no one to gather information/support from.

Hi JP18, I'm still waiting for my 3 month follow-up for my palpable lump (not seen on imaging) so I have nothing to offer except that I'm sorry you find yourself here.

When your mass was first found, did they offer to biopsy it? What was the bi-rads rating?
