Wednesday Weigh In

stayed the same...a miracle given the 2lbs I gained on Monday morning after Super Bowl 6 hour party...but as a native of Mass our house was very happy with the game's outcome if not so thrilled with the actual game.
3.5 weeks before spring break, going to Barcelona...need to get serious about my pre-trip diet so I can come back from trip basically the same as now...hope that made sense.
Happy mid-week, TT
-
TT, I get it. Trips are essential for weight maintenance.
TH, wine should be number 1 on the list. This from a non-Parisian but it's only about 4 hours away by train. Generally, I think Europeans get a lot more walking done unless you're Danish or Dutch, then you are probably on 2 wheels. I am mostly on my bike as well but when in Paris, I love walking.
I gained a kilo last week after DH's birthday and have lost half of it now.
-
I'm down 1.4 of the 4 vacation pounds.
-
Down 1.5. Didn't have a bunch of salt last night which really helps. Not getting any exercise because of the snow and cold.
-
I am down 1 pound! It's heading in the right direction now! I told DH last night that I would no longer be participating in his late night ice cream shenanigans!
-
Varga, love your reference of not participating in ice cream shenanigans! In my case it's decaf latte shenanigans I have stopped. We would have one almost every night.
One week on my “Parisian Diet", or should I say lifestyle. I lost .8 lb. I believe I owe this mostly to not snacking between meals, because this was the biggest change I made and followed consistently. I had to learn to eat sufficient dinner to not snack at night. I did exercise every day but don't have more minutes in the week than I normally did. So far I have failed miserably at “cooking at home" which I intended to do five days. Too many lunch invitations at work. The week was pretty painless and I didn't feel I was eating less, so if I could continue to lose weight this way, I would be happy.
-
Two Hobbies- snacking has been an issue for me! Sometimes I think I snack because I'm bored or stressed. Also someone at my house is always hungry and needing a snack! It's a vicious system! Not snacking with the crew! Congrats on the loss!
-
Same as last week...this was a week of medical appts...good mammogram, yeah. Bone Density down another 5%, boo, that makes 20% down total after 3 year years on Arimidex, ugh. Yesterday had my 6 month MO appt and he will have me stop the Arimidex, flush it out of my system and then see him in two months to discuss/start Tamoxifen. TT
-
down one pound
TT, start eating a serving of dried plums (prunes) every day, they actually build bones.
-
Up .5. Happy it's not more. Being snowbound and bored really made me want to eat.
-
Down another .8 lbs.
-
Stayed the same. 151 lbs.
-
Missed checking in last week. Had lots of running around (some necessary some unnecessary! ) I stayed to same. Thank goodness because when DH appear in the bedroom with a coffee mug full of coffee ice cream I was more than willing to participate in the ice cream shenanigans! Good to see the maintaining, losing and just s smidge of gaining!
-
up .5...have been eating my dried plums, but can't blame to gain on them...cold and sleety in Virginia, ugh.
-
Up .5. I got the munchies when we were snowbound and they haven't gone away. Probably need a few no carb days to reset.
-
I will probably weigh in on the weekend since I forget during the week. I am back up a pound and not really sure why because I haven’t been eating that much. I have been fighting a cold with a lot of chicken soup (salty?) and mango orange smoothies, which do have a lot of sugars even if it is fruit sugar only. We will see what next week brings.
-
After pigging out at Dim Sum yesterday, I'm definitely waiting to post till the last minute.
-
We are on a big road trip across US. Currently in Tucson. Just weighed myself (yes, I brought my scale on the trip!). 146, which is up a bit from when we left in mid January, but still under 150 so I am thrilled!
-
Down 1..a miracle.
Pat, I too travel with my scale when I go to our family beach cottage. We spend 3 weeks a year there and I need to weigh in as usual...are you traveling in a camper van?
-
Not too bad, Pat! for a road trip.
Congrats,TT.
My eating has been less than stellar and exercise has suffered. Still not feeling right and stressed all week. Down .6 lb. I will take it in these circumstances.
-
trmtab we have a travel trailer (22ft) that we pull behind a pickup truck. This is our first big trip. I was a little nervous about being stuck in the trailer, but I have learned to love it. Today we are camped at a wildlife refuge in Arizona with thousands of Sand Hill Cranes - it is just beautiful. The one drawback to RVing is that we really don't get a lot of exercise, so much time spent driving, and up until the last couple of weeks the weather hasn't been that great.I weighed this morning and was 146.5 - still under 150 so I'm all excited about that. One more month on the road...
-
I am up quite a few lbs this morning.
-
TrmTab - Arimidex attacks the bones which is why my MO switched me to Tamoxifen after 1 year on Arimidex. I shouldn’t have been on it to begin with even if I was post menopausal because I already had osteopenia. Now I have osteoporosis. Thing is she wouldn’t have switched me if I hadn’t said something. Go figure.
Tamoxifen does contribute to weight gain although my MO said one of her patients lost 40 lbs while taking it. Idk of anyone who took it or is taking it who lost weight.
My weight fluctuates depending on how much pigging out I do which has been a lot lately. Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and the first official day of Lent so NO sugar for the duration. That should help. I weighed in at 126 yesterday

Up .5. Keeping weight down is hard.
-
On Spring Break...in Barcelona...so no scale to weigh in, but checking in none the less. Was down an additional .5 before leaving on Saturday.
Have been walking walking walking. According to Mr Fitbit I have had 10-14k steps and 30 - 100 minutes of activity each day. Hope that means I will be okay after the week.
Today is Ash Wednesday...for those who are in that group, are you giving something up??? My usual is no sugar in my tea/coffee.
Diane -- the blood clot issue with Tamox really scares me...
See you next Wednesday when my scale at home will tell the truth! TT
-
TT- I'm so jealous enjoy your break!
I haven't gotten on the scales today yet. I'm waiting to pick my GS up and school and thought I would peek at the thread. I've had a sinus head ache for 5 or 6 days now. I finally gave in and start an antibiotic last night when my head was throbbing. 2 dosea and I already feel better.
I have lost 25 pounds while taking Tamoxifen. I am trying to lose 10 more. If it doesn't happen I guess that's ok to. I was in a 10 and just bought a pair of jeans size 6. I'm eating healthy and exercising so I'm winning even if I'm stuck at 137!
-
I was on vacation (lots of food), came home just in time for basketball tournaments (gym food), and it was my birthday (out for dinner.....twice)=a couple extra pounds!
-
I have been piling on a lot of weight and not been checking in here. I’m going to try harder. 155lbs today. Going to try to eat vegan for the whole of March. X
-
TT- I have been thinking about Lent and what to do. I'm picking one from this list! I have already given up sweets. I still crave salt like crazy and have cut it out. (BUT COULD LICK THE SALT SHAKER RIGHT NOW!! I crave it bad!) Here's the list
-
I like that fasting reminde, Varga. Congrats on your weight loss. I keep hoping to lose about 10 to 15 pounds to be my before pregnancy self. I have to remind myself the proper focus is health and to continue improving eating habits and exercise.
TT, hopefully all the walking will give you a pleasant surprise.
This was not a great week for me. I was up 1.6lb. We had a retirement at work, plus fat tuesday so it was a week of paczkis, King’s cake, pizza, cakes, bagels and I usually am good at saying no, but was feeling stressed and I joined in. At least it did remind me that too many carbs make me feel physically bad, and the lingering side effect is cravings for sweets. Trying to get back to normal starting yesterday.
