Just Diagnosed with Recurrence, Metastasis to Bones...

Options

Hi All,

I was getting ready for reconstructive surgery when they found a spot on my sternum during my MRI. I have had a biopsy that confirmed it is malignant. Bone scan was yesterday and Pet scan is coming up. Definitely scared and want to hear stories of survival and how I can survive this scary diagnosis.

    Hi chloesmomandcgswife,

We are really sorry to hear what you are going through. We understand how scary this feels right now but there are many treatments out there that are very successful. You may want to take a look at the topic, Bone Mets Thread to connect with others who truly get what you're going through.

    We're here for you

Thank you so much, I have never been on a site with this and have had a little trouble navigating it thus far. I have an appointment with my doctor in an hour and hope that this site will be a source of encouragement and strength in the YEARS to come. I plan to live.

I am sorry you are dealing with this. The link posted above will connect you with many women who've lived for years with mets to the bone. A good friend of my mom's was diagnosed about 15 years ago or so with bone mets. She's doing well. Assume you will too unless something happens to change that.

    Hi KBeee,

Thank you so much! I am already so happy I have joined this community. Everything I was reading online was doom and gloom. I am already feeling more hopeful!
