Cooling Caps in Canada for Chemo

Hello all, I am very new to the group.  Newly diagnosed and have one Chemo under my belt.  A curiosity for me is reading on cooling caps and how they can minimize hair loss.  Has anyone tried one?  Where does one get one, renting is what I've seen?  I've found more information on this in the states, however so far I have not found how you can access one in Canada.  If anyone has any information I'd be curious to read it.

My hats and wigs are purchased, I really didn't know there was any other options out there.  I'm sure I'm too late to organize this anyhow, just wondering why things aren't offered, or mentioned.  Options are nice, but perhaps cost prohibitive.

Thanks in advance for anyone who may have info.

Saucygirl - welcome! I'm not in Canada but I did use a scalp cooling system during my chemo last year. You need cool during all of your chemo treatments, so it may be too late to prevent/minimize hair loss for you. But, having said that, you may want to reach out to some of the scalp cooling companies to get their take on starting after you've already had a chemo treatment. I used DigniCap, which does not offer services in Canada. But a similar system, Paxman does. There are also what is referred to as manual scalp cooling systems - Penguin Cold Caps, Arctic Cold Caps are two of the companies that rent caps but I'm not sure if they operate in Canada.

    Good luck!
