Stopping AI before reconstructive surgery - is this standard?

I just settled on a plan for reconstruction, and my PS said I should stop taking my AI (exemestane/aromasin) 10 days before surgery due to clotting risk. Is this standard? I know Tamoxifen comes with blood clot risk, but I didn't think the risk was as high with the AI. Also,I feel when the PS said it, he was not confident...

I had my exchange surgery at JH in July. I was not advised to stop taking AI. Obviously discuss with you doctors. Good luck!

I'm scheduled for exchange surgery on 3/8 and my PS told me to stop taking my AI 3 weeks before surgery. I messaged my MO and he said no...3/4 days prior is enough because it's not Tamoxifen. I called PS and back and they were just like, "Oh, okay."

I am 7 weeks post op for revision. I put my vitamins and arimidex in a pill box for the week...so I stopped the week before and the week of and then went back to my full pill box the next week. I also had to stop my multivit. TT

Never stopped Arimidex for any of my surgeries. Ever.

As far as supplements, go was only asked to stop non-water solubles and no ibuprofen,for I think,it was a week prior. Tylenol was aok.

my ps said the same thing. My mo said there are no known risks but the surgeons usually prefer you stop taking the ai or tamoxifen.

My Doctor had me stop taking it 10 days before also.
