Fibrocystic changes after hysterectomy??

Hi all!

I’m Angela and I am 36 years old. I found a lump a few weeks ago and went to the OBGYN today. He says he feels not one but 2 lumps, but he feels it may be fibrocystic changes in that breast. I have a diagnostic mammogram scheduled for Monday to make sure.

I am confused though. All of my research says that fibrocystic changes occur because of surges of estrogen at different phases of the menstrual cycle. I had a full hysterectomy at the age of 24 and my ovaries were removed. I went through full menopause years ago and read that changes were rare in post menopausal women. does anyone have any more info on this?

TIA
