My last chemo is this upcoming Tuesday and, while I'm excited about that, I am far more excited that I have a date for my exchange. On February 28, I will be getting rid of my expanders and getting my foobs! We are going to fat graft at the same time, which I wasn't expecting. Anyone do fat grafting with their exchange? How long was your recovery? PS telling me 1-2 weeks even with fat grafting.

Yes 1-2 weeks is about right. Seven days after my bilateral exchange with fat grafting I was able to go to a work event without any issues whatsoever. It was a much easier surgery and recovery than the mastectomy. The recovery from the fat grafting is more so from where they take the donor fat from. Mine was from both of my thighs so there's incisions and I had a lot of bruising in the thigh area. I found the thighs were more sore than my breast area after the exchange. It was a relief to finally get the expanders out and the implants in. Congrats on your final chemo!!

Thanks Leesa D - chemo is done! Now I wait for the side effects this weekend and move on! My fat grafting is coming from my belly. PS said I'll have two tiny incisions and then I'll need to wear a binder for four weeks. Wasn't expecting that. But want the best cosmetic outcome I can get, so that it will be. Counting down to February 28!
