Does anyone know if insurance covers reconstruction for males with breast cancer?

    I couldn't say with 100% confidence, but I do know a man who had prophylactic mastectomies with immediate reconstruction, and I'd be surprised if any insurance provider would be permitted to discriminate between male and female. Call your insurance provider and ask.

    Yes, insurance pays for breast reconstruction for men just like it does for women.

    This isn't in response to your question but the rock has pex implants. For myself sliding the implant behind my pec muscle really messed up my shoulder and rotator cuff. I can no longer do any upper body work without pain and tightness. There are other body builders non cancer who have had implants so I would search for some community feedback. Also insurance can be appealed and preapproved. Just make sure you have the facts and understand the risks of loss of rotation and strength.
