Compression sleeve and pink hand

I requested a compression sleeve after my surgery, not because my team expected me to have trouble with lymphedema after just 3 nodes but because I would far rather be proactive and have it on hand than have trouble and have it get worse while I wait for an appointment. I wear it now and then when my arm feels tight, which is has again since finishing radiation, and am wearing it today in preparation for a session with a LiveStrong personal trainer who stressed that he won't work with me unless I am wearing it. As I wear it this morning, I can see a noticeable difference in the color of my hands. The sleeve hand definitely looks pinker, which makes me wonder if the sleeve is too tight or if I could possibly be wearing it wrong? Seems like this has happened other times I've worn it, but then sometimes I don't notice any differences with the other hand.

Edit: I should have searched this forum before posting a new question. Looks like there's already plenty of advice on sleeves here.

I'm not sure. I also ordered one just in case (on the advice of my lymphedema therapist---I also had 3 nodes removed plus radiation), but I haven't had to wear it yet. It seems like your hand should be the same color. They gave you a gauntlet to wear with it, right? My therapist said never wear a sleeve without a gauntlet. I guess because it could push fluid into the hand?

I'm sure someone who knows more about it will come along, but in the meantime, can you call the person who prescribed the sleeve to ask?
