Pain after implant??

I had a single mastectomy in October then an expander under the muscle. I felt uncomfortable the entire time and especially under my arms. This past Monday I had my exchange surgery. Today I am feeling a lot of pain, similar to that of when I had the expander. I felt better a few days ago! Could I have over done it? (I drove and went to the store, nothing major). I do not have a fever, the area doesn't look red or discolored.... but it feels swollen and uncomfortable. Anyone else have experience or thoughts on this? I don't see the doctor until Thursday, but I feel like I'm in more pain than I should be!

    Hi Jackie,

    Pain is very subjective, but can be a sign something is off. Can you call your PS, get them to order an Ultrasound to check for seromas or other problems before your appointment?

    I got a hematoma after my exchange surgery the pain didn’t come on until a few days after. If you have a hematoma the whole breast would bruise pretty quickly though after the pain came on! Not saying it’s that but I remember pain radiating to arm!!

    I’ve had plenty of seromas I don’t recall them causing me any pain.

    I had my exchange surgery Dec 6th. I had more pain than expected. I asked my ps for more muscle relaxers and he said “I shouldn’t need them at this stage”. That was 2 weeks out. It felt swollen and tender. I ended up having an infection. I’m currently looking at a new ps. I had implant extrusion, and had my implant removed. You know your body and if you are in pain, or feel something is off, speak up and get it checked out! Fluids and rest should make a difference if you did over do!

    thanks.... I’m not in massive pain, but it doesn’t really feel better. I feel like the expander is still in. I’m going today for my follow up so we will see. I’ve been taking gabapentin that I had & it helps a bit.
