has anyone ever had pain under their armpit while on ACT? Opposite side to mastectomy. Bit worried. Also I feel hard lump in neck. Doc says it's only a shotty node nothing to worry about. Cant stop worrying :(

    Jacqueline,

I had many aches, pains, and sores during treatment. I had taxol (12 weeks), followed by 4 AC treatments every other week. I had a swollen node in the back of my neck after I started losing hair and had a lot of pimple like lésions on my head, probably folliculitis. One of my co-workers calmed my fears by telling me that her husband would get swollen nodes in his neck when he had bad acne. It did resolve after a couple of weeks on its own. I also had a lot of muscle and joint pain. The rule of thumb is if it persists for a couple of weeks discuss it with your oncologist (if you can wait that long, lol!). If it is still concerning you in a week, call your doctor, but I found that chemo could cause the symptoms you are describing. Take care of yourself and keep us posted

Thank you for replying. I'm worried it may be something more serious, even on chemo :(

Many weird things can pop up during chemo. I had very hard, bone-like like growths on my skull under the skin. Was certain it was bone mets, but they have eventually gone away. It took months and months. Also had a specific point pain in my right should (most of the cancer is on my right side), again certain it was a new met, but it too has gone away after a long time too. My MO scans me every 2 months and if I feel very worried will do an ultrasound if it applies to the area. Bring it up to your MO more than once. They should be as concerned as you are. I hate the 3 week rule! I bring it up week 1, 2 and 3 so by week 3 we can do something about it and so my MO knows I’m very upset by it and to take it seriously. You are in your body and you’re MO needs to take a lot of cues from you to add to their medical knowledge.

Are you doing neoadjuvant treatment? I did get a scan partway thru to check if I was responding to meds. I will say chemo causes crazy side effects so i’d also keep track of when it started so you can discuss further. I hope it’s all ok.

HI Jacqueline. I wanted to let you know that I had this during my ACT chemo and sometimes I still feel it 6 months later! I'm not sure what it is, but try not to be too concerned. Your body is going through a lot.

Thank you for replaying. Was told I'd be scanned at the end if I was still worried which could be another 7 weeks. Will go private if have to, to ease my mind and have a better quality of life :( very hard when your asking and they refuse

AC done and half way through taxol 12 sessions now. This all started 4 weeks ago. It could be just a reaction/ response but a scan to confirm would change my life. Cant sleep.
